Are you Dennis Moran?

I think Iestyn Harris ended up with about 50 of them. Started giving them to teammates he won so many.

Sean Long famously used to go out on the town after games wearing 3 or 4 Tissots on each wrist/arm...

I've got an Apple watch for daily use and a Tag Heuer Carrera for formal use. Good to see England RL earning a bit of dollar from this particular market.

It’s a rash assumption to think this is earning the RFL money.

I look upon the watchless as one level up from a hobo 😂

I haven’t worn a watch for about 30 years.  My wife normally calls me a kn0b head so she is interested to know if this is the correct term for ‘one level up from an hobo’.

If we assume the watches are worth the £2,000 they claim to be (they're not) then even if all they are being is freebies for Player of the Match then that's six grand's worth of support.

If the only upshot from there being a few more watches knocking about RL is that a few more matches start and finish on time, I'd see that as a big win.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Haven't worn a watch since I left England back in the mid 60's AT.

Yeah. I think its all about perception too. Grown up sports have a suite of partners and partners can be used to attract others. If nothing else players are possibly getting something extra for playing.

Whether these watches are worth it or not is somewhat irrelevant. I think that outside of watch connoisseurs most people will see this as a reasonably premium brand and that is a plus for RL's image.

Time is indeed meaningless once you leave old Blighty behind.

That would be my take on it too

Great to see a new partner for RL and good to see one outside of the usual gambling/alcohol.

if it’s cash great, it should be! But if it’s free watches for players then good to build the prestige of playing for England, and if it’s MoM then ok too!

But anyone debating the retail price vs what it costs to make … have a word, it’s like saying Nike trainers aren’t worth the price because you can buy a cheaper pair at Tesco

It’s not about retail versus what it costs to make.

I’ll restate my point: RL fans are brilliant at supporting businesses who support RL. In this one specific case, I would suggest that they give careful consideration before doing so.

It wasn’t so much aimed at your comment, it was more that you can’t always relate price of a product to what it costs to make.

However, I have checked with my brother who is somewhat of a watch aficionado and his comment about this brand was ‘absolute garbage’ 😂

Yeah, it's not the price compared to cost of manufacture, it's price compared to watches of similar quality.

If you paid around £300 for one I dare say it would be absolutely fine.

Sounds about right. Tissot watches are classified by its owners  the Swatch Group as "mid-range market" products.  Soccer and crikit get Hublot, a Swiss luxury watchmaker, a wholly owned subsidiary of LVMH.

The "Dark Ages" is a term referring to life at the RFL under the new regime. It's characterized by a decline in openness, professionalism, transparency and  achievements,

I notice on the ticketing site it now has a statement on the Wembley game recommending Australian fans book in sections 110-113. Be gutted if I’d already bought in those areas 😂 but good they are trying to get them grouped together

I'm nostalgic for a good old fashioned ticket sales update.

With magic out of the way and soon to be challenge cup final done and dusted i think we’ll start to see and hear a lot more noise and updates etc.

The BBC are doing a solid job of advertising it during their live games, games that attract the biggest audiences of the year. This is where them having SL games, Cup games and internationals makes sense.

The Beeb gives legitimacy to the series. With the RU Autumn Internationals retreated behind paywalls, home international RL really needs to take advantage of the audience built up, used to international rugby in the autumn months on FTA TV. A Wales-France series would be fairly easy to put together and offer some content to broadcasters.

Do the BBC give out any information on how to attain tickets for the remaining unsold test at Wembley?

One problem with a Wales-France series on FTA TV would be embarrassingly small crowds.
