We've booked to stay in Wallsend, just down the road, in a hotel with non cancellable rooms which my mate booked.

I asked the obvious question "What if Hull FC are sh*t next year?"

I received the reply "What do you mean if?".

At least it won’t be the hope that gets you.

Hopefully Thunder can benefit from this with their (likely) Friday night match. It has been a rough few years for them so they could really use a financial boost.

Hopefully we will organise something for the Friday night, it'll depend on stadium availability.

For anyone around on the Sunday morning there's the Newcastle-Gateshead marathon, half marathon and 10k from Gateshead stadium.

For those who enjoy a Parkrun, Leazes Parkrun finishes with St James Park as the back drop, always great to see the rugby league shirts out on Magic Weekend.

Always think it's a shame Newcastle don't have a match at St James' Park during the weekend. It's the least that the hard-working people that have kept the Thunder going for quarter of a century deserve. And surely it would boost interest in the club among the many locals we are told attend the event.

£150 return train tickets already

Those will be Anytime / Off-Peak fares. The cheaper advanced fares won't come out until three months in advance, so around Feb/Mar.

Sick of this tripe being trotted out any time theres a mention of discounted tickets for locals at the magic weekend, or finals etc. Go to any final in the UK in any sport and this is the norm, its how finals are done. Grand Final has tickets distributed to schools, Twickenham has thousands in a similar fashion, FA cup distributes thousands of tickets to amateur sides, referees, kids etc.

The constant need to disparage everything and anything about our sport by our own "fans" is pathetic.

Should be £5 maximum for all major RL events.  Know your audience 🤦 still be people moaning at £5 no doubt.

Oh I do wish for a Hull derby at St.James Park it's like a smaller version of the Newvastle v Sunderland derby.

Is it? How?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I had assumed that Wigan v Warrington in Las Vegas would be a loop fixture and they would still play each other home/away.

But if they are playing each other at Magic Weekend, they will only play each other at Wigan/Warrington once in the league next year.

Haven't Wigan given up their home game? Magic fixtures are determined by previous seasons league positions.

Without knowing where you are starting from, I cannot determine whether that is an absolute bargain or a complete rip off.

Wigan have given up their home game. I agree though it would make more sense to be taking a loop fixture.

its not discounts for locals, or schools, or amateur sides or kids etc. Its discounts for everyone. When grand final tickets go on sale they are sold at 40% off to anyone, when cup final tickets go on sale they are 25% off for anyone. Those selling the tickets are devaluing our sport by saying the tickets aren't worth the price printed on them.

Do you know if the game in Las Vegas will count towards Wigan home attendance next season ?

Well its a home game so it should but I've no idea how you would work that out. I wouldn't be a fan of just trying to pretend a quadruple header is the crowd for the Wigan game either. If its excluded and the game not counted in average then so be it but that seems unfair too when it is normally one of the largest attended home games too.
