2 for one?   The Rhinos is an interesting one, as A designer I think its objectively outdated and a bit rubbish, but it's so well known I think they are related;uctant to change it, however

The GB RL lion is absolutely brilliant and one of the best there is, I suspect its more by accident though 🙂

I think with the closer relationships with Salford council, the Manchester reference has been taken off, after a few terrible efforts since leaving Station Road, this isnt a bad effort. We need to bring kids back in, this badge should look better on any merchandise

Do you think it will look better? I thought the other one looked smart and by virtue of being circular was pretty inoffensive and easy to put on kits and merch.

Old one was way better! As a modern, social friendly, badge it was pretty good. Certainly one of the best RL ones.

In an age when brands have generally been minimalising, this goes the other way in making a relatively simple roundel a busier piece of work. 

It's fine, although they should consider altering the font.

i think the word Manchester was offensive to the fans, the badge was linked to the previous board who wasn't well liked

Id argue that a rebrand is more than just whether your fan base (which will be biased) is all that counts, it has to appeal to other people aswell

It does. But we have some shocking branding examples that seem to work fine in RL. Leeds Rhinos is a prime example, and that's before you get to Leigh's.

Edit - the below took under 2 minutes on Canva. More or less time than Swinton's logo took?

The Rhinos is an interesting one, as A designer I think its objectively outdated and a bit rubbish, but it's so well known I think they are related;uctant to change it, however in the hands a of a decent branding agency it could easily be modernised and look far better, I think probably they can't justify the cost though. I'd love them to update it.

 

The Leigh Leopards branding is absolutely one of the worst Ive ever seen.

Not the rebrand as in the name, I think that was a good idea but the execution is simply amateurish, they are 'lucky' (and I mean that only in regards to branding) that they have been a success on the field which has made people overlook how terrible the branding actually is.

It might be real, it just looked AI to me. And awful.
