Megan Pakulis moving to NRLW side Gold Coast Titans with immediate effect.

Been fantastic at the Valks but a great opportunity for her.

Yes, that's going to be a really tough gap to fill for the Valkyrie. Best of luck to her in NRLW though... Will be interesting to see how she fairs when their season starts. Hopefully Sky will be showing a few games again this year.

We sign Zoe Hornby to replace her.

For those York fans who don't follow the Valks closely, think about a loss to the Knights of Jordi Thompson.... consistently 8/10, 80 minutes every game. She's beeen immense for the Valkyrie.

No more than she deserves (she was, after all, voted in to the Team of the Tournament at the last World Cup). Go well Megan !

Yes, I made the same comparison.

And talk about cat and bag, someone has been naughty. The Zoe Hornby news was embargoed until tomorrow.

Sounds like it's true then!  England International, will be a great addition and will compensate somewhat for the loss of Megan.

As I understand it, she left Leeds last season because of travel difficulties from Newcastle. Admittedly, York is a bit nearer, so let's hope she manages to overcome any such problems.

Lyndsey's Pre-Match interview below. Can't believe that new recruit Izzy Bibby's been attending training while on an Army posting in Germany!😮 Good news is that she's now got a transfer to Catterick.

Good luck to the Valkyrie this afternoon. I hope that those who can't go to the game come and support them on the big screen at the LNER. Let's go to Wembley.

Thought the discipline was poor today which ultimately cost the Valks a place at Wembley.

Disappointing result, but the better team on the day, deservedly, get to go to Wembley...again.

Not too much between the teams today but I just thought the Valkyrie struggled to find any real attacking threats against a solid and well organised defence - something they haven't really encountered this year up to now.

A number of errors (like not finding touch from a penalty) and poor discipline, really hurt York at crucial times, handing any momentum they had back to Saints.

Lots to be positive about going into the League campaign, but also plenty of things to improve on if York are to win any silverware in 2025.

Don't forget - Valkyrie live on Sky tomorrow at Wigan (5.30pm KO) in 1st league game of the season (as part of a double-header)

A tough start.......

A tough evening for the Valks, as they couldn't contain a rampant Wigan who ran in 7 tries in a 40 -6 win. Even worse, Tamzin Renouf had to be stretchered off after a long delay for treatment. Hopefully, she makes a rapid reccovery.

Take nothing away from Wigan but we were very poor. We seem to struggle passing the ball down the line (bad passes/over running) Let’s hope this is fixed soon.

That's 2 rediculous games in a row for the ladies. 5.30pm on a Friday away and playing Saints at their own place in the cup on the same day York play at home. They probably didn't want both York teams at Wembley.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

The venue for the St Helens v York semi was decided on the flip of a coin, and the Wigan game was part of a double header that was live on Sky Sports - a good thing.

There isn't an anti-Valkyrie conspiracy.

Don't forget that the Valkyrie game against the Rhinos this Sunday is a double-header, with the York U19s playing Leeds U19s beforehand (12:30pm KO)

Walk-up entry only £5 - season tickets valid 😀

Looking forward to the game this afternoon and hopefully the Valkyrie can get the win which will kick start the season of for them after the last couple of games.

Disappointing performance again today. Too many errors although the ref didn’t help. Interesting comment from Lindsey Anfield that “we need to be fitter”. What did they do in pre season ?
