A bit unlucky today for the Valks - leading until the 70th minute - though I doubt that Sinead has been coached to ask the referee, "Which one are you shagging?"

I haven’t laughed so much for ages, might cost her a few quid at the disciplinary unfortunately.

Probably get a big ban, might even miss the rest of the season.

Although it’s now gone viral and in the modern game that’s probably worth more than having your captain on the pitch for the run in.

Of course there are only two league games left and a semi-final  (and a very unlikely final), so she'll probably miss all of those.

I watched the match on The Sportsman and the red card and the referee's explanation of it were very clear, although somehow missed by the commentators.  But another image is stuck in my head. At the end of the match, as the players were going down the line shaking hands Faye Gaskin stopped Sinead, obviously asking her what she had said to the ref. When Sinead told her she clasped her hand to her mouth with a look of sheer incredulity.

Priceless (though there'll be a big price to pay for Sinead)!

Grade E and a trip to the tribunal for Sinead Peach then.

A minimum 6 game ban seems a bit much in a 14 game season. Maybe the thresholds needs to be adjusted a little bit for the ladies game from 2026 onwards.

Taken from the Tribunal hearing notes on the RFL site.

'Sinead Peach’s tribunal, following a Grade E charge of Other Contrary Behaviour in the Betfred Women’s Super League fixture between St Helens and York Valkyrie on August 31, was adjourned until September 17 to allow further evidence to be presented.'

What more do they need to know. I wonder?

Maybe to find out the answer to the question asked by Peach?

Well our two year title reign has come to an end, but they can definitely hold their heads up high. Came up just short in a brilliant semi-final, but still a season to be proud of considering the player turnover in the squad.

Roll on 2026! #ComebackSeason

Outstanding effort in a great game. Thought we were on the wrong end of a couple of crucial decisions, but having said that, the discipline was poor.

Wonderful, gracious interview from Lindsay at the end.

First time I've finished an interview with both parties with tears in their eyes at it's conclusion.

Fabulous, fabulous tenure from Lindsay.

I see that Leon Pryce is a potential next head coach. Interesting, would be quite high profile. Lindsay does say “he” in the interview. Maybe a slip of the tongue but ….
