Trinity far and away a class above today vs Cas this first half. Breaking at will and been able to try their hand at plays.

When you add the likes of Johnstone, Atoni, Hall, Doyle, Griffin it looks positive early signs.

looks like a fair few kids will get a run out this second half.

Halftime at Luke Gales testimonial.

Wakey 20-4 cas

Both sides playing full(ish) strength sides first half. Only a friendly but Wakefield playing some lovely stuff, occasionally guilty of over playing at times. Cam Scott and Mason Lino standing out.

Unfortunately it looks like Mr. Ellis might have to get his cheque book out again as Liam Hood went off with a bad looking ankle injury. He stepped out at 2nd marker and went down with on contact. Looked painful.

All the youngsters (plus Gale) to come on 2nd half so no idea what the end result will be but great to be watching some rugby league again.

Lino looks a different player so far.

Lol. Spoke way too soon on that, he's just come back on. Looked worse than it was.

Other than match fitness, avoiding injuries and playing yourself into form, pre-season games count for little and are certainly no marker as to how a team will perform in the year.

That is true but with more first teamers out we looked fitter, stronger and much more structured. The amount of breaks was telling.

it doesn’t mean much as you say though and it probably just means we are a bit further ahead in our pre season in terms of being ready.

We do have a tough start though.

A couple of things to take from today.

Pratt will own that number 4 shirt no doubt. He’s a real talent and in both attack and defence is just a machine even at his young age. Had Wood in his pocket all night. Wood probably won’t want to watch that back. Smith looks to be closer to being ready as next young player and can see him getting some games this year.

Truman and Lino look to complement each other well. And I did not expect that at all. It just seems to work.

Roarke seems to have the ability to play a few positions to a good standard, can see him covering well.

Forwards looked good.

Very good performance by us, absolutely dominated Cas in every facet. Difficult to read too much into a friendly but definitely promising signs for us and a few worrying ones for Cas.

It’s going to be interesting watching Air Johnstone and Air Walmsley this year. Both can dot the ball on a 5pence spot with little space.

Highlights here.

Commentator is a bit Mick Morgan

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Good run out for Wakey some of the plays were excellent. Cas have some work to do looking at how they played. Beaten in the middle and pretty much overwhelmed on the edges.

Keighley 44 Bradford 22. Presumably the Bulls will have some of the first team playing in their friendly against Doncaster tomorrow.

Yes, we sent a reserve/academy squad with a couple of first teamers not needed for tomorrow

Isn't Bradford v Doncaster tomorrow in the Challenge Cup?
