South Liverpool had a disappointing 5-0 defeat away at St Helens on Saturday, in front of just 128 spectators. There’s now 2 games to play and South are 5 points clear of relegation so need a win away at promotion chasing Padiham or home to AFC Liverpool to make sure.

It's been an incredible, record breaking season for Beverley Town;

-Our first ever season in the 9th division of English football, the Northern Counties East League.

-We've reached the playoffs in consecutive seasons.

-We've reached the final of the NCEL League Cup for the first time in the club's history (final yet to be played).

-Record attendances for the club with an average of 346 through the gates.

-Building of our second stand and development of our ground.

-Our first appearance in the FA Cup since 1919, the longest period there has been between any club's consecutive appearances.

-Our best ever run in the FA Vase, reaching the first round proper for the first time in the club's history.

-And we may still get promoted to the 8th division for the first time in the club's history, and as I say may still win the League Cup.

Gutting. Awful way to lose.

It is probably for the best that we lost to be fair. We've only been at this level of football for this season in our entire history and back to back promotions would have been to much upheaval for a small club that is still developing at this level. This gives us at least one more year to grow naturally and not be overwhelmed by progressing too quickly.

I think I said in this thread before that talking to our chairman, he said that they didn't particularly want to get promoted anyway because it would have meant having to do masses of ground improvements which we simply don't have the money to do at the moment. It would also have meant paying players a bit more and maybe needing to employ staff on a permanent basis rather than relying on volunteers like we do now.

As I say, probably for the best that we didn't go up this year.

Blue and pink smoke, a crowd of 328, and a new band of drum beating ultras ... all at 11am in one of the most genteel parts of East Sussex. But Little Common stay in the SCFL Premier with a 1-0 win over local rivals Bexhill United.

My team, Brentwood Town, won the Isthmian North League today. A very peculiar feeling as, apart from Essex CCC, I do not support clubs in any sports, which actually win anything

It’s lucky it’s football not Rugby League.

Halftime in the Northern Counties East League Cup final from Glanford Park, Scunthorpe.

Beverley Town 3-1 Knaresborough Town.

C'mon you Beavers! 45 minutes to win our first bit of silverware since joining the NCEL.

BEVERLEY TOWN ARE THE NCEL LEAGUE CUP CHAMPIONS!!!

The Beavers win the most prestigious bit of silverware in their history! They beat Knaresborough Town 3-2 in a very hard fought final after having a man sent off early in the second half and having to spend the entire half camped in their penalty box defending for their lives. The 500 Beverley fans in the stands are celebrating like they've just won the euromillions jackpot!! There is a goose in the middle of the crowd honking it's beak off!!

What an incredible evening in Scunthorpe! What an incredible evening in the club's history!

My team. Emley lost to a 94th minute goal away at Dunston in the Northern premier league division 1 east play-off, we finished 5th in the league table, a remarkable achievement by the Pewits who were playing at this level for the 1st time in over 20 years following promotion last year, and the aim was simply to avoid relegation.

Emley spent most of the season in the top 2 but ran out of steam in the end, it's certainly been a better season than anyone expected.
