Right, we were told by Mokko that he couldn't get the regular friendly v HW Select due to (stupid) RFL rules about amateur no-contact period in January. Hey presto, a plethora of amateur clubs get into the 1st round proper of the Challenge Cup ( possibly some into the 2nd round) both of which are scheduled to be played in, guess when, yes JANUARY. Now Wath Brow have pulled out citing the above RFL directive, which poses questions. First, does the idiotic RFL realise that it has contravened its own rule? (I suspect that they haven't the foggiest idea). Second are those amateur clubs who play breaking RFL rules? Third, are amateur clubs within their rights to refuse to play in rounds 1 and 2 in January for fear of RFL reprisals? 4th, if the RFL allows these games to go ahead then could the HW Select also decide that they can play after all? Remember folks, this RFL is the body that actually pretends to run our game!! Management Committee 'my a*se' to quote Jim Royle!!

Also 600+ d.b.s checks sat on a desk of rfl red hall since November. These won't be processed whilst this former ref is suspended, his special office friend also on erm leave.

How do I connect these 2 pieces together 9' oller....

A bigger incentive would have been a home tie against a SL club. Both HW "lower league" clubs have managed to grasp short straws!

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Bromley, you guessed right, hope 'The Moor- have a change strip, as there's a colour clash!!

In RL isn't it the tradition for the home side to change strip in the case of a clash?

It certainly used to be BSJ

Why then does the RFL want clubs to have home and away strips then? It was however a tongue in cheek remark....

Newcastle -

if we win and don’t win by a certain amount then people will say we don’t have enough in attack

if we win by a big amount people will say it’s just Newcastle let’s see what we have got to offer against the championship sides

if we lose then it will be the end of the world as we know it especially on here by certain people

anyway looking forward to a decent afternoon out with proper rugby non of this swapping and changing about

The Newcastle team is made of students and amateurs, they haven’t won a game since September 2023…
