If including GF you would then have to include Magic Weekend as well .

Taffy Tiger Posted February 19 Posted February 19 1 hour ago, langpark said: Magic, divided by 3 on the day you played is fine. Disagree , as @dboy says you can't really divide by 3 . However , it shouldn't be counted , in the same way as GF , as it's not an official home game . The regular season is the way it is calculated for a reason . This way every team is judged on the same number of games in the same competition each season . The question would be if a team takes a home game on the road . I would say that this should then be counted as it is still an official home game . 2

Did they buy 3 tickets? It's not perfect, but it's far more honest than claiming 40k turned up to watch Salford vs Huddersfield. Edited February 19 by langpark

Padge Posted February 19 Posted February 19 There is being honest to your own detriment and there is playing with stats to your advantage. Other sports use stats to improve their image to potential sponsors, we seem to want to insist we use them to put off sponsors. All attendances should be rounded up to the nearest (highest), big number - there will be 7 or 8k at Trinity tomorrow - that should be reported as 10k. We should count everyone who attends Magic as attending ALL games. Twice. Didn't a previous rugby yawnion world cup claim to have a worldwide TV audience greater than the population of Earth?? 1 1

Right, so these big shot potential sponsors would not do the slightest bit of due diligence you think? How dodgy do we look then, when they realise that the 40k we claim turned up to watch Salford v Huddersfield was in fact more like 4k?

Now you're being ridiculous - no-one is going to believe that 4000 people will turn up to a Salford v Hudds game! 2

Why do you think other sports use compounded figures, could it be that sponsors don't do due diligence just for them but do for others. Worzel Posted February 20 Posted February 20 This sounds like good news for the size of the crowd tonight… 4

Tbf a few years ago the combined HKR/HFC crowd would be nowhere near Hull City*, so that’s huge progress in reality. *Discounting their ‘protest’ years 1

Dave T Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Despite all the gloom and the justified frustrations over internationals, it feels like something is happening in SL. Great presentation generally being rewarded with good crowds. I'd love it if these translated into big event crowdsnin the Cup and at Magic. 12
