A decent promo here by Halifax for their Good Friday "derby" with Bradford.  But I can't help but feel they are selling themselves short.  They are top of the league and undefeated!  How long has it been since they have been in that position?  Why are they not shouting that from the rooftops?

Nice, would be great to see a huge crowd at the Shay.

How many sellouts can we get in one round?

Hull FC with one of their 'cryptic' updates....

Don't think it's that cryptic?

I guess they could just come out and say how many have been sold though. I reckon the capacity with segregation zones and the fact that away and west upper tickets have been sold as "unreserved" is probably around 23,000. The Cup Quarter Final attendance was just over 20,000 with 1,000 sold in the west upper, so looks like we're already ahead of that on about 21,000 now with 3 days to go. Probably won't sell out, but it'll be pretty close.

Probably depends how many more Rovers fans are able to wangle ways to buy west upper tickets from Hull FC despite the hurdles put in place. I'll be up there!

Based on the cup game, "lower bowl sold out" = 18,000 give or take. The upper holds just over 5k, so I reckon we are through 20k sold and hopefully that can get up to 21/22k by Friday.

So what is the NRL record for a regular match?  Probably a full house in Brisbane, 52,500, or when they played at ANZ stadium in the late 90s early 2000s i think their capacity was closer to 60k.

It's about 59-60k when Souths played Roosters in the final round of the season in 2013. Winner won minor premiership. Roosters won.

104,583 were at Accor in 1999 to open the stadium for a double header.

62,225 were there a year later for the first round double header.

59,708 were there for the match quoted by WLL above and the third biggest regular season crowd.

This website is a great resource for Australian crowds:

Thanks for the details.  I would argue that this one holds the record as it was a standalone match.

I wouldn’t necessarily argue against that.

I reckon 70k may be a bit of a stretch for the this week’s game but, I think 60k+ is achievable if weather holds.

It should exceed 90k.  Leigh vs Warrington has been the most underwhelming in terms of promoting the match.  Hopefully both clubs pick things up tomorrow.

Championship will hopefully exceed 15k, which averages 2.5k per match.  Sheffield-Doncaster I can already see being the major let down, but I hope I am wrong about that.

Leigh have been heavily promoting the semi final and Cats away ( Cats away has already sold out Gates 7&8 plus all 650 in Nord, been given standing tickets and fans buying direct fro Cats) Wire tickets look like about 600 still available. So if wire sell the South at just under 2000 we will be close to full if not full

Good to hear.  It just seemed like they have not made much noise about it and we are already two days into the week.

So far one confirmed sellout (Wigan).  Wakefield might soon follow.  Then hopefully Leigh and Hull can go close, if not all the way.  That only leaves Leeds and Catalans, both of which should be decent too.  90k definitely looking likely.

It was 59,708.

There was a double header (Manly v Knights, Dragons v Eels)to open Stadium Australia ( the olympic stadium) which had over 104,000.

Have Wire not sold many?

I don’t think the kick off time suits but time yet.

Saints crowd down 3,950 on when they played London last year. They were lucky to get 10,000 as they made zero effort in promoting the match, which is typical of the club at the moment.

Not true there were several promotion offers floating around. School holidays/Easter which is popular with holidays particularly the first week prior to actual Easter and the poor showing in the cup would be the main points to drive down attendance. The women playing at home on the saturday may also be a factor.

Not sure on ST holder numbers but I would guess quite a few of those missing too.

Biggest mystery in RL right now:  Hull FC's stadium capacity.  According to this, it's only 21,000.

If we are being literal, then from the Hull FC statement alone, we can only accurately say that the stadium has a capacity of 20,002 - 99,999,999,999,999+

Is that not just due to unreserved seating?

Thats pee poor from Wire again. Imagine only taking 30-50% of what the small neighbour without a train station takes to their place.
