thehullram Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Just over 21,000 at MKM today. Great atmosphere as a neutral. Imagine if SL was like this every week? 9
Just Browny Posted April 18 Posted April 18 4887 at Halifax. 2156 at Workington 11 2 I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
sweaty craiq Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Leigh v Wire will get close to a sell out, looks like at about 10k now if the Wire number stated yesterday is correct at 1500 1

An excellent atmosphere and the Shay is a decent ground with that sort of crowd in and three stands open. 2 I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Are Bradford still a very well supported team then despite them being stuck in the Championship for a while now? I don't really know because I don't follow Championship closely.

Just looking at Friday tea time games last season and comparing them with each teams season average Cronulla. 12,928. I have not included Warriors because the friday 6pm game is prime time (8pm) in Auckland. All apart from Penrith are well down on season averages apart from the Wests game which was the last game of the season that decided the wooden spoon (wests v eels). 1

As I said previously I dont think any team can be blamed for Friday tea time crowds. Clearly all clubs suffer substantial hits when told to play at that time.

I don't really know because I don't follow Championship closely. I think they'd be up there for highest average attendances in the League still, about 3k+ now? Other than the likes of Leigh, KR and Wakey who have been relegated, remained FT and bounced back in recent years (oh and Toronto) they'd probably be up there amongst the best supported of the more semi pro outfits. Their average in SL when they weren't in meltdown was between 10k to 15k, with high individuals attendances of 20k plus being for the matches against Leeds. I suppose that is where a lot of the nostalgia comes from because on paper at least we had another game as big as the Wigan vs Saints or Hull derby. Some stats for you to look at as I know you like those! https://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/teams/bradford-bulls/seasons.html 1

They are respectable attendances certainly. If they were to get back into SL you could see those doubling immediately. They could easily be getting a 6,000 average so more than Huddersfield or Salford. It certainly is a shame what happened to Bradford and I would like to see them back at the top end of the game. Just need to clean up Odsal a bit... Edited April 19 by The Hallucinating Goose

Keighley look to be in serious trouble on the pitch.
