I think the bunnies crowds will be dramatically affected if they move to Allianz like the roosters even if they are struggling at the bottom end of the table.

do you think the sharks have a future in the shire?

For sure. You don’t?

I think the best thing for them will be a new multi purpose sports precinct in Miranda at Seymour Shore.

Huge cost and public funding for something like that could be a decade or more away.

It sure does mate.

adelaide sharks sounds good too.

I’m very much against relocating NRL clubs. The NRL would be mad to do it and the Sharks are financially secure, so won’t be initiating any such move either.

Not unless they upgrade their stadium.

Excellent that perhaps this is the time for the French RL to develop their league structures and International game

Do you think they should move to the summer the Elite 1 ?

It would be too hot to play, regularly reaching the high 30s in the SW of France in summer. I know Catalan and TO do it but they’re professionals.

Sharks are financially secure for now but who knows what things will look like in a decade or so especially if the new teams like the dolphins and bears really kick on in terms of crowds, sponsorship and tv ratings.

Why would the crowd numbers, sponsorship or tv ratings of Bears or Dolphins have a bearing on the financial security of the Sharks?

Because of limited spaces in the competition.

if the model of the Perth bears is successful in terms of crowds, sponsorship and tv viewers it could see the NRL want to copy it in Adelaide or another Brisbane/ipswich team.

they might also want to create space for NZ2 also .

And move the Sharks or other susceptible clubs you mentioned for a merger or relocation?

Won’t happen. The NRL are doing their best to correct the mistake of vacating North Sydney. You think the NRL would then look to make the same mistake again by vacating the Sutherland Shire, one of the nation’s biggest area for sports participation?

Anyway, looked like a good crowd at Manly today to close out a bit of a disappointing round for attendances. Shame, the footy was awesome.

That’s a phenomenal effort by the robins.

what did hull kr take to Wembley last time. 15k?

You’ve got the East Stand and the lower tier looks pretty much full already. I don’t understand why the neutral areas along the side aren’t for sale though, unless the whole lower tier is sold out which is hugely unlikely https://mpv.tickets.com/?agency=RGLV_PL_MPV&orgid=57429&eventId=1022&salesGroupId=2520#/event/E1022/seatmap/?selectBuyers=false&minPrice=21&maxPrice=51&quantity=1&sort=price_desc&ada=false&seatSelection=true&onlyCoupon=true&onlyVoucher=false

There is a bizarrely low amount of tickets actually on sale on the RFL site. Assume lots are now sat with the clubs but surely they’d at least have some of each ‘area’ available in some form via RFL

Nottingham Outlaws Rugby League

Harry Jepson Winners 2008

RLC Midlands Premier Champions 2006 & 2008

East Midlands Challenge Cup Winners 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008

Rotterdam International 9's Cup Winners 2005

RLC North Midlands Champions 2003 & 2004

I assumed that too but Hull KR’s website directs you to the RFL site, so they’re not with the clubs.

If the Perth bears model works and is successful i.e. we see big crowds in Perth and the away support for the bears in Sydney helps swell attendances etc then i can see calls for poorly supported clubs in Sydney like Cronulla copying Perth bears and relocating to Adelaide getting louder.

id also move the dragons to Wollongong fulltime with 1 or 2 dragons “home” games played at Kogarah and especially Allianz for dragons v roosters.

❌❌❌ 11,214 Eels v Dolphs

❌ 15,193 Knight v Tiits

❌❌13,747 Bunnies v Broncs

✅✅23,827 Raids v Dogs

❌❌❌ 12,919 Drags v Wahs

✅ 19,324 Cows v Pants

➖ 17,376 Storm v Tiggers

➖ 15,823 Segals v Sharks

A pretty underwhelming week for the NRL leading into Origin period. Only one crowd broke last year’s NRL average.

Eels and Souths crowds are unacceptable.

Dragons showing that it’s not just Kogarah which doesn’t want to watch them.

Knights fans perhaps finally showing their disgruntlement with their team performances.

Storm a touch over 17k is just a pass at best, as is the Segals with their 16k.

Cowboys fans came out in good numbers and so did the green army in the capital.

There was so much enjoyable footy on the weekend. Shame so many stayed away.

Mothers Day always seems to have an effect (negative) on the sunday crowds.

I spent sunday watching Tyrone Peachy playing for Tugun Seahawks….but I have been motherless for 20 years, sadly.

That's the Hull KR ticket link, lots of other areas available via the RFL, but yes I do think the neutral lower bowl is mainly sold out now.

https://mpv.tickets.com/?agency=RGLV_PL_MPV&orgid=57429&pid=9419699#/event/9419699/seatmap/?selectBuyers=false&minPrice=21&maxPrice=51&quantity=1&sort=price_desc&ada=false&seatSelection=true&onlyCoupon=true&onlyVoucher=false

They don't open the south upper though, the ground holds 70,000 without it and I doubt we'll need that.

In the first decade of the new Wembley the Cup Final attendance figures are all inflated because they counted the 17,000 Club Wembley 10-year bond tickets as all sold (because they came with entry to the final included, even though few used the right). We used the south upper in those days, but the middle tier was mainly empty. You can see the drop off in the stats from the 2017 Hull-Wigan final.

That also goes to show how well attended the 3 years in Cardiff were beforehand, over 70,000 every time. We really should be taking Magic back there, no idea why we haven't.

I think there should be over 60k for this final though, KR might take more than they did to the Leigh final.

I think the question is how many Wire fans will go, compared to Leigh ticket sales in 2023, given for Leigh it was a much more momentous occassion.

Last time as well Hull KR fans had an issue with limited transport, there weren't enough coaches and train spaces for everyone that wanted to go. Leeds and the North West are far better connected to London. Hopefully we can be a bit better prepared this time.

Ultimately though the long-term issue has been the reduction in neutral supporters, those pre-sales before the semi final. The big crowds have never been just about the two clubs that make the final.

Big difference this year could be the additions of the 1895 Cup last year Wakey took a big following. HkR will take plenty though.

Bradford v Fev would have as many fans as Wakey v Sheffield. The year before was Batley v Fax and they didn’t bring many at all.
