Record crowds at Midlands, Crusaders, and York. Highest for years at Whitehaven and Workington, probably over 4,000 for West Hull. So why are there now suggestions of delaying the entry of Superleague clubs to the next round? This is why- Superleague clubs want to have some league games behind them so they  are match fit.

But the Superleague teams drawn against sides below them should still cede home advantage. Pathetic crowds at Leeds (1,310 at Leeds and 2,032 at Wakefield against over 4,000 at West Hull) prove my point.

I don’t think it should be changed.

Just on a point of note Wakefield had the North Stand and West Terrace closed due to ongoing work at the stadium the south side is also having terracing laid so the only available area was the East Stand with a capacity of around 2500 seats. Goole changed the venue to Wakefield as their stadium capacity of 3000 was also getting some renovations done, so before you start slagging crowds off get your facts right.

I think a section of the East Stand at the North (away) End has been held back.

Won’t be anywhere near the need for Leigh fans to spill round that far, and it looks like Wigan will need it for their own fans at this rate

Agree the most Wigan fans attending LSV in SL has been under 3000 so Leigh getting 4500 is more than adequate on a Thursday night

What were the crowds numbers of  Crusaders, York, West Hull and York Knights games as not on wiki yet.

I also believe it was Hunslet's biggest home crowd since Bradford visited in 2018, a decent turnout from Huddersfield too considering our usual away followings.

Any word on sales at St Helens and Leeds? Two big games there; with a fair wind I think 75k should be within reach this weekend:

Wigan - 20k

Catalans - 8k

Hull KR - 11k

Leeds - 15k

Saints- 14k

Huddersfield - 7k

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

7k at Huddersfield is pushing it i reckon, it would need at least 2,500 Wire fans to get anywhere near 7, i believe they've sold just under 800 at the moment.

I think 5,800 - 6,000 is more realistic.

Fair enough, I'd be amazed if there weren't more Warrington fans than 800 this weekend (I will be one) but 2,500 would be a lot.

You'll recall we met in R2 in 2023 and there were 7,700 in attendance; should be aiming for similar really.

Not many seats left for sale in Perpignan.

There wasn't as much apathy amongst our fanbase then and we'd come off the back of a good 2022, to be fair there's a few days of sales yet so you never know.

I would be disappointed if Leeds got only 15k this weekend. I would expect upwards of 16k

15k may be a stretch for Leeds. It's harder to tell what sales look like on the new ticketing website but I'd expect around 14k. Obviously depends on how many Wakey fans turn up.

600 of those were given to Fax fans as the shay move gathers pace

Their opening fixture last year got 8876, in 2023 it was 7862. For some reason, their opening games are usually among the worst attended. There was a quote on L'independant this week about how the number of visiting English fans can vary from 400 like this weekend to more than 2500 in August.

I would love it to be proven that I was conservative with the Catalans and Leeds estimates. I had it in mind that Catalans crowds are much better in summer and autumn than early in the season.

North stand will be limited to about 4,000 and the block in the East holds around 1,000.

I can’t see Saints getting 14k on Saturday Browny, the “Pay On The Gate” “Bandwagon” fans i know are not bothering. They’re not impressed with what is going on at the club with Wellens as head coach, plus they said “it’s too cold to be standing watching RL”. For them it’s the pub or watching it at home in the warm, which is enticing.
I think the crowd will be about 11,500 but i hope i am wrong.

Agreed, I am expecting we will be underwhelmed by St's and Leeds attendances, they just don't seem to have been hyping it up as much as some of the other home teams.

York have just announced theirs as 5,369.

Largest crowd since becoming the knights, or since 11,347 watched them at Bootham Crescent against Leeds in the cup in 1989.
