Thats brilliant would have love to been at the or watched on tv.

I Just wish we could attract that number every home game it would make a massive difference financially to the club, realistically we should be able to get 3,000 if the guys keep playing the way they do. It is a cracking little stadium , and that’s from someone who loved Clarence Street.

3,033 at Workington, 3,980 at Haven as apposed to 2,975 at Bradford.

Just shows the potential In Cumbria.

I believe Workington sports village has finally got the go ahead and Town will move in next year? Have not seen any comment on here about it.

Any word on sales at St Helens and Leeds? Two big games there; with a fair wind I think 75k should be within reach this weekend:

Wigan - 20k

Catalans - 8k

Hull KR - 11k

Leeds - 15k

Saints- 14k

Huddersfield - 7k

I think you're about right with Saints, sales looking pretty strong. Could be as high as 15K with a fair wind.

Agreed, I am expecting we will be underwhelmed by St's and Leeds attendances, they just don't seem to have been hyping it up as much as some of the other home teams.

I don’t use Facebook or Twitter but i am wondering if Saints have been promoting the game on there.
Our prematch entertainment last season was as poor as the RL served up on the pitch, & food they’d offer in the concourses.
It feels as if they can’t be arsed doing anything apart from a “sigh…erm we have a game at 5.30pm on Saturday, you can come if you want. There will be an ice cream van outside the stadium charging extortionate prices, that will continue when you go to the kiosks inside the ground.
Have a nice day Sir would you like a paper hat.

Maybe because we don't often treat them as big games?

Granted the local derby nature of this game undoubtedly helps. I've also always thought that the RFL should work with/put pressure on Sky to make Thursday night games more local in nature, i.e 2 teams from East or West of the Pennines playing each other, rather than Wigan playing Hull.

Ultimately though other sports make these matches work, and things like Monday night football were a core part of the Premier League for years, and we should in RL too.

I think you miss my point, no issue with the Thursday night matches through the season. I just meant to open the season it feels more low key on a Thursday night. For round 1 could we have a Saturday night as an example with a big event … just like we finish the season!

To me it feels just as big an event than if it was a Saturday. Big crowd, local derby, Michael Buffer, the Lathums etc. Granted not all Thursday night games are like that but I think in this case the day doesn't matter.

"home sell out", could mean anything really, in terms of the total number of tickets sold.

I expect it to be just over 21k, which will fall just short of breaking the Round 1 record (21,693)

I thought home sell out obvious, only tickets available are in the away allocation, all available home tickets have been sold.

What else could it mean.

What is the capacity set at for tonight’s game ?

For games with unallocated seating and walk ups allowed capacity is reduced by 5-10% depending on other factors. Highest figure gives capacity at about 22,500.

So it's Leigh not pulling their weight for this one.

It really couldn't. It's pretty obvious what it means. There is one away end and Leigh haven't sold all their tickets. The rest is sold out.

I'm actually surprised as they normally bring good numbers and thought they'd sell out their allocation.

Indeed.

Agreed.

I meant "could mean anything" due to the reduced capacity plus the fact we don't really know how many Leigh have sold.

Anyway, the fact that it is guaranteed to be over 20k is fantastic and I hope I am wrong about them not breaking the record.

Tbf 4,800 is a big sell by anyone’s standards, was probably about 2,600 in the end. But more fool those who stayed away because they thought we’d get stuffed!

(Oddly we took significantly more in 2005 when we lost 60-6)
