Wiltshire Warrior Dragon Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Stade Paul Barriere would be a good name for Les Dracs' ground in Perpignan. Always good to recognise a visionary for the international game; there are so few of them about! 1
Gerrumonside ref Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Great idea to ride the coattails of the Luke Littler phenomenon and has definitely got people talking about Warrington and rugby league. 2

He parading his world Darts trophy so he will be there. 2

up the robins Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Keep LL sweet and with the money he's making a potential future owner of Warrington years down the line.

Tommygilf Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Leeds Rhinos and United are doing a joint Sky Sports piece before our opener too, with players of the latter coming to the game as well. We've also paraded trophies at Elland Road at half time in the past. I really don't see the issue with this. National media profile and being in the conversation is important and something the sport sorely lacks. 4

But that's hardly the point, Warrington CEO and people on here excited because of what his presence does for SL, not the other way round.

But for our benefit not Littler's, this puts in perspective where the two sports stand in the eyes of Joe Public. 1

National media profile and being in the conversation is important and something the sport sorely lacks. Again. Precisely my point. A coming together of equals (ish). Let's do more of that. But I bet Leeds aren't re-naming Headingley as Elland Road for the occasion. It's the balance that is completely off with this LL stuff.

RigbyLuger Posted February 6 Posted February 6 They must have missed when Sheffield United named a stand after Jessica Ennis (not that that gets mentioned now!)

Just Browny Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) I don't necessarily see why Luke Littler is a secret weapon for RL. I also don't see why Warrington celebrating him this way is upsetting some RL fans. He's a young guy from Warrington who literally became the world champion in his sport last month. Due to the nature of his individual sport, and the fact there aren't any PDC events in Warrington, the opportunity for a 'homecoming' isn't really there, so Warrington RLFC (of whom he is a long time fan) have stepped in and seen the opportunity to sell a few hundred extra tickets for a fixture that is usually a harder sell. It won't be the difference between RL launching into the stratosphere, and we also aren't selling our entire heritage to one bloke. Edited February 6 by Just Browny 3 I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I don't remember it having much of an effect or destroying the legacy of the cup. 1 I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
