I would like to know the general consensus of the video ref.

In SL, they are soooooooo slow and pedantic. Ben Thaler leads from the front and the rest copy.

I find the requirement to review the same angle over and over again in order to deliver a decision which should have been made 30, 45, 60 or 180 seconds earlier is a real mood killer and irritating.

The NRL bunker for all its faults is brilliant. Decisions done quickly with very little disruption to the game.

Funny that, because during the WC over there I thought the opposite, I thought they made ours look slow and extremely tedious.

I used to think that video refs over here where under the mistaken belief that they added to the excitement by making the crowd wait for their decision.  From what I`ve seen of the pre-season challenge, I think some still do.

I think they should get 3 watches/angles then they have to make a decision. If 3 watches isn't enough, it can't be conclusive.

I think part of the trouble is that the definition and frame rates over here are often sub prime. The NRL camera operators also have excellent positional sense.

I haven't found too much of an issue in the few games I watched this weekend. But I didn't see the match people were complaining about with Thaler as VR.

Broadly it's fine imo.
