Just reading the Salford players were due to be paid this morning but were not. The club are hopeful they'll be paid tomorrow.

Not a great start.

Not a good look

The Gamecaller also reports that SRD have failed to repay the RFL advance.

This is despite Irwin telling us that ALL debts have been cleared.

SRD aren't helping themselves, are they?

I think we can say that the Red Devils are taking the rise.

Not long, no serious damage done according to scans.

Important that they don't bring him back too early, that his injury is given time to heal properly else it might recur later in the season

Yeah seriously with us losing our #1, #6 and #7 I’d love to see how other teams cope with that and still beat a Top 4 side by 42 points and concede nothing 😳

If that’s poor, then it should be a great year!!

A Top 4 SIDE? I would have you a social wager on that happening this season😂

It seems like this payment change is a bit of a non-issue, however I'd add a couple of points to that.

Firstly, Rowley saying it was known and communicated makes me think not, his stock is at zero.

Secondly, someone has leaked it to Matt Shaw, meaning that it is likely somebody is not happy with it. If it's a sinple change from the last Thurs of the month to last Friday of the month I don't expect any story or leak at all. That suggests there may be some unrest and mischief going on.

It does feel like there could be issues at play here, I wonder whether players weren't happy with Rowley's approach during the last few weeks. His incompetence did mess players about for a couple of weeks, and not everyone will respond well to the bunker mentality. Especially when he is now calling them pathetic and telling them to get over the victim mentality.

Challenging times for him as a coach I feel, there is a risk this spirals. Personally I hope they can get back on track and we see another strong performing team like they were last year.

Why would they repay an advance?

If that's the case then I wouldn't blame the players for their minds not being 100% on the job. They've been messed around so much the last few months, surely their preparation for the season can't have been as good as it could be. And then you think it's all sorted and I can get back to just focusing on my rugby, and then don't get paid.

They seemed fine when 'trolling' on SM on their holiday/training camp, the way they acted over that i think was the start of the general RL population falling out with them.

But i have already asked the question on whether they are now doing to their coach what their coach did the the sport, sticking two's up.

So a recap - We have record ST sales across SL, some exciting imports from NRL and Jet2 becoming a shirt sponsor - all overshadowed by Salfords financial fiasco. Despite this SL gets off with a BANG big gates, close results and lots of positivity. We then get Saints v Salford live on the BBC!!! This week we have HUGE positive publicity around Vegas, thousands of travelling fans are making the positive impact our sport deserves and hopefully making the NRL and US sports see a great opportunity, we then have a team showcasing the sport on Day 1 of a new weeks fixtures reportedly not being paid and obviously not giving a hoot, together with the rumour that payments to the RFL have not been paid also - followed by a dozen fans in an empty away stand not helped by a stupid fixture date(cant blame Salford fans not travelling though on a THURSDAY NIGHT in winter FFS)

We have plenty media very happy to knock us without a member club giving them the ammunition to do so. Get this sorted and maximise the positivity

You played well tonight, and played some really attractive rugby at times. Impressive without your first choice pivots. However, Salford are a train wreck at the minute. I dont think the 3 teams who have played them can read anything into those performances at all.

Yes I know that to be honest, but for me you can still only play what’s in front of you and what I saw last night was that a side shorn of all its decision-makers (some in-game so not even prepped for) had other people who could step into those roles and still create good structure. That’s a positive. But yes of course Salford were rubbish and it doesn’t tell us anything about how we’d go against Wire or Wigan.

Agree with most of that but there's been quite a few big wins. Last weekend saw big wins for Wigan, Saints and Leeds.

"all overshadowed by Salfords financial fiasco."

True. It even got a mention in last nights Trump press conference, in the UN Security Council, and Putin has threatened to intervene.😀😀

Didn't see much of the game but enjoyed the scene setting by Radio Humberside beforehand, "Who needs the bright lights of Vegas when you've got the bright lights of Saltend, Immingham and Hull docks?".

And Rotterdam, obviously.
