Apparently Stuart Pearce had a health scare on the flight back to London after watching the Wigan v Warrington game in Vegas. Hopefully nothing too serious and he makes a speedy recovery.

He recently gave a talk at my work via video with a Q&A afterwards.

He talked about leadership and teamwork using mainly examples in his sporting career of other people.

What really struck me was how generous he was in his praise of others, his honesty and his modesty too.

Quite the opposite to his nickname and perceived persona, he struck me as thoughtful, kind and intelligent.

He came across very down to earth and was very likeable in a very rugby league kind of way.

I understood why he liked rugby league ethos and why people talk very highly of him.

The story about Brian Clough ‘asking’ him to fix his wife’s Iron is brilliant. It was Cloughie’s way of bringing him back down to earth after playing for England.

Good guy and very supportive of RL. Hoping everything goes ok and he gets better soon. I will never forget the display of emotion when he scored that penalty at Wembley. Showing massive courage after he had missed one in a key game earlier in his career. If ever I am required to enter the trenches I want him with me.

Only bumped into him a couple of weeks ago at a Dropkick Murphy’s gig in London. He was really down to earth & I even commented to him at the gig that as a season ticket holder regularly watching him play for West Ham at Upton Park, I was surprised how young he still looked! Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Larry proved him wrong.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday afternoon, Pearce explained what had happened, saying: "My heart rate was racing, my resting heart rate from the time I was monitored on the airplane was anything about 155 beats a minute. That was ridiculous really.

Serious but not a heart attack in the normal sense.  His heart hadn't stopped. Quite the opposite. At this speed, the heart cannot pump properly, so if it doesn't slow down on its own, the medics stop it from beating and restart it to resynch everything.

I guess I'm not alone on the forum in having this happen.  I had "chemical". cardioversion which brought it under control, but the arrythmia had damaged my heart and so I've had an organic replacement heart valve fitted under open heart surgery. I expect Psycho, being a lot younger, will recover better but he's likely to be on meds for the rest of his life

Cardioversion is a medical procedure used to restore a normal heart rhythm (sinus rhythm) when an abnormal rhythm (arrhythmia) is present, achieved through either electrical shocks or medication. :

Electrical Cardioversion: This involves delivering a controlled electrical shock to the heart using an external defibrillator, resetting the heart's rhythm.

Pharmacological (Chemical) Cardioversion: This uses medications to restore a normal heart rhythm.

When is Cardioversion Used?

Atrial Fibrillation (AFib):

A common type of arrhythmia where the heart's upper chambers (atria) beat irregularly and rapidly.

Q: When will we know that 14 clubs is working for Super League?

A. Before we can answer that, we need to know what the move was meant to achieve. Seemingly, no one knows,
