jroyales Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Well as expected SL has brought back all of the big guns for mission impossible. I only hope we don't get embarrassed and we escape with no injuries. The league is the priority and the dream of Wembley a close second.
m brooksy Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Looks like KR are picking a very strong squad only resting a couple of players. Looking at our squad I'd go Johnson, Tyrer, Thornley, Sambou, Dixon, Craven, Drinkwater, Dudson, Wildie, J Chap, Ashurst, Lawton, Milner. subs: Farnworth, T Chap, Moran, Forster. No PLT or Hirst so a couple of changes there. Think Lawton just needs to play as he's never going to get match fit playing the last 30 mins. Think we'll give a good showing of ourselves but hope we can keep them to a respectable score and build some confidence for the vital London game next week. 1

Craven fullback, Elijah Taylor either second tow or bench.
RoughyedsFan_merged Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Craven at fullback with Dean and Drinkwater would be a return to our best team, in my opinion.
League in union Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 I hope Longy has a plan (I'm sure he does) but I can't help thinking that the squad named should have been the one that played last weekend - the league's the thing! 1

I think it was a tactical move based, in part, on Fordy's overall strategy. To do really well against a SL team, doesn't matter whether we win, lose or draw. As long as it's not a total annihilation. Put up a really strong performance. To show the powers that be that we mean business. I think Bradford did that when they played Castleford. Yes, I know the league is priority, but it's more than that, it's a message. That message needs the best team for tomorrow's game. Let's see if it works! m brooksy Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 His stats still look great but he's definitely not fitted in as well as last season. Lots of sideways runs that might break tackles but put us in awkward positions to attack and we did look awfully disjointed last week. Would love to see Craven get an extended run in there or Logan when he's fit but it seems unlikely. Think if Dean is to play it has to be with either Craven or Drinky controlling the team with Riley running the ball which he's actually very good at. 1
Anita Bath Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Good luck….hoping you can pull off the miracle…..and get Batley in the QF! The odds are stacked against the championship teams, four of five away. Apart from Fevs trip to France, its the longest trip in the round and on Friday night…a tough ask for a part time team against any opposition, but at high flying HKR as well. Looking for omens (or clutching at straws) 100 years ago you beat them……in the final….and that was played in Yorksher too. 1 1

Is Sean Long going to admit he threw 2 championship points away by resting players for a challenge cup game. To state after the match 'he had no option' is laughable. Remarkable recovery for a lot of the players on a 5 day turnaround.

He adds an air of calm there. It also gives him the freedom to attack and change the direction of play easily. With regards Logan he was distraught as he hit in his Dads car after the match. Fordy said it sounded like his ankle ligaments and he was having it checked. If it is that’s his season over. Back to PLT, he needs to learn when to take a defence on and when to put his centre or winger away. He is certainly exciting but we can’t afford to miss scoring opportunities. 3
Bedford Roughyed Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
