We've already signed Batchelor and Bell. Will Pryce and Toby King are also getting talked about as done deals in some circles. A few more signings of that calibre alongside those kids and we've got the makings of a real good side.

I haven’t heard anything about Will Pryce but I think that would be a big signing, I watch him every week and he is coming on nicely. His best is yet to come.

It is only a rumour at this stage and there may be nothing in it, but I know we have enquired and I've seen a few people saying that it's a done deal.

Does Will want to come home? Not heard much in that.

I watched the Knights game this week and they are playing very well especially the kid in the 6 jersey who will take some replacing.

Don't know, but the steward in the corner where Martin beat French on the outside will probably lose his job, he wasn't half laughing at that try being scored.

Pryce won't be back playing for Newcastle at NRL level barring injuries IMO. Every other half has easily outperformed him there.

theres plenty of good players wasting their career at the wrong club or in reserves in the NRL - Farnworth- Lomax- Addo Carr  have no chance of winning owt where they are just for 3

Money talks over there johnny, Dylan Brown is leaving Para this season and signed a 10 year 13 Million Dollar deal with Newcastle for next season.

@Click Another reason Pryce will not get in at Knights.

Fair play to Hull, they were outstanding and deserved the win. Disappointing to go out but the bigger picture is that it's great for the game to have Wigan out and Hull looking like turning a corner.

Don't think it is quite that simple, but not sure what that has to do with Pryce not playing for Newcastle

As someone who was trapped in widnes last night, were hull good for the win? How much did the reported wigan injuries play into it?

They deserved it. They played the game at a totally different pace to Wigan in the second half and wanted it far more. Aidan Sezer was absolutely superb.

Wigan's injuries are no excuse. There was enough out there to get the job done and injuries to other players doesn't stop the ones on the field concentrating and treating the opposition with the respect they deserve. Wigan got loose and thought the game was in the bag and couldn't stop Hulls momentum. It'll probably be a good lesson in the long term.

We played some great rugby in the second half. I don't think they injuries in themselves hurt Wigan, more the way they dealt with them. When Field went off they pretty much reshuffled the whole backline and the right edge looked at sixes and sevens after that. Although Hull looked very quick and precise when they we shifted it wide, and Martin's first two in particular were excellent finishes.

they played out of their skin second half if seizer went into his shell they lose. wigan didn't handle their injuries very well.

I think this is correct. We still had the players available to put in a strong performance but the way we moved players around seemed to make things worse.

That Hull left edge had the Wigan right edge nervous for the whole of the second half. Having Keighran on one leg and unable to run defending in the halves didn't help our movement across the field. Farrell is also no longer quick enough to defend at centre against players with pace. The slow movment on the inside meant Eckersley was ignoring where his opposite number was and jumping the line early. Our slow movement also meant Sezer wasn't put under pressure because our line was really passive. When the winger jumps out the line you can cover if the centre and half have enough pace to cover across, but Farrell doesn't have that pace and Keighran couldn't run.

The final try was scored when Marshall jumped the line, having switched with Eckersley. I thought it was an attempt at a solution that didn't fix where the issue was, evidenced by Marshall making the exact same type of error. Pace and movement on the inside was costing us.

Having said that, it wasn't a case that our right edge was just weak and Hull exploited it. They had to create the opportunities to pick us off and that was done by some excellent ball movement. For all the issues we had on the right I thought our middles being really compact and having slow lateral movement was just as damaging. Even when Hull went down to 12 they were able to score from an overlap by having a much bigger gap between Cust and Sezer in the halves with the left edge stood really far wide. Wigan still kept a tight middle unit so it took one long pass between the two halves eliminated 2 Wigan defenders in the middle and created an overlap. The execution of attacking moves from Hull was really high quality.

Disagree with those who use words like entitled and arrogant. Everyone acknowledges Wigan lost to a better team on the day, and over the last year and a half of remarkable dominance Wigan have always given credit to opponents and their fans.

Still good to see them lose though 😉

But I  agree Wigan's approach is much classier than in the past, much of that down to Matty Peet IMO.

On this subject, I think Myler had a clear plan about what he wanted to do. We know we've got a great crop of young players coming through. Phase one of recruitment was all about getting some experience around them.

Phase two is about integrating the young players fully into the first team and supplementing that with some quality. Thats the future of the club.

We've already signed Batchelor and Bell. Will Pryce and Toby King are also getting talked about as done deals in some circles. A few more signings of that calibre alongside those kids and we've got the makings of a real good side.

Trimmed your reply for brevity but I agree with you! I think the challenge will be year 2-3 of this where your senior players are potentially a year or two too old. Slightly younger/better players ie the ones you mention might help but it’s at that point that managing the transition becomes really difficult IMO.

Well deserved win for Hull Fc so glad that their loyal supporters are getting some reward after so many lean years.Marshall got caught out in no mans land between centre and winger for a couple of tries. Not the first winger to do that and he won't be the last.

Think for Marshall/Eckersley that’s more a function of the chaos inside them than them alone.

I don’t know if it was a lack of respect, concentration and ability to adapt to the change in D systems more likely.

I believe in man for man marking, your job is to stop him.Inside it is the centres job to man mark his opposite number. In the modern game second row forwards help the middle more than covering the edges.Notice who nearly got across to help Marshall.Farrell an experienced player reading the game like good players should. But too many just stick to the coaches game plan.
