Looks like we need a thread on this one...

After a strong performance at home to London it would be important to follow up with a good away performance.. Eagles are finding their feet and like Batley earlier on this season are playing us after a bye week.

When we played Barrow Sean went with a much changed squad.  1895 Cup follows the week after and that one is massive for sure. What will our selection look like?

Yes the 1895 is important- how great would it be to get to Wembley! But Sheffield is also crucial. They beat Featherstone after losing at the very strong Halifax and according to their website report are beginning to click. They have a very astute coach in Craig Lingard who I’d fully expect to have worked out ways to out us to the sword, as Barrow did and Batley deserved to. We have a strong squad but rotating, in effect downgrading the importance of some matches can have a nasty habit of kicking you in the teeth, as the match away at Barrow proved. I assume DC is out snd we know that Mo is. Put out the strongest team, keep winning and keep confidence high. Then if changes are needed for injuries or drops in form then slot someone in a winning team. I don’t like chopping and changing.

Squad up and includes DC... if he doesn't make it we could move wildie or Milner into the halves or even gamble on PLY..only nathan Lowe on dual reg this week so Dixon likely to be back in.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Another week and another massive game.  A win here gives us a good start and a great platform for the rest of the season. Sheffield will be a similar test to Batley where they are a proven and consistent Championship team and we'll need to be at our best to win.

In regards for the team, looks like Dixon straight back onto the wing for Cartwright. Craven hopefully fit as with Dean out we could be short in the halves. Would like to see Aldridge onto the bench replacing Dean but wouldn't be surprised if we go with a four forward bench especially away from home. Can't see too many other changes needed after last week.

Oldham by 6.

Biggest win of the season so far, imo. Drinkwater showing his class. Despite the missing DC and RD and far too many dropped balls, to come from behind and grind that one out was magnificent. Tough and important win. Well done, boys.

Well done the lads.  Are we second in the league now.?

Second behind a very, very strong Halifax. Big wins for them, York and Bradford today. Anyone off their game in this league is going to get punished in most of the fixtures.

Halifax flying. Hiring oldham lad Eastmond has been a master stroke

Listened on Roughyeds TV. Had a chuckle at the end when a fan, presumably an Eagles fan, shouted "bloody lucky"!!! Ha ha ha!

Yes, I heard that. Long may it stay that way.

Judging from the match commentary, it didn't come across as "magnificent" by any stretch of the imagination😀.

But a hard fought victory against very formidable opposition for sure.

The momentum is building nicely!

There will be a few sore bodies in the morning! I thought the pitch was a great leveller today but credit to Oldham for sticking to the task and finding a way.

By ‘magnificent’ I mean the way despite it being a game of attrition with defences largely on top we kept our focus and determination and upped our game to ‘win ugly’, as Adam Milner called it. A beautiful game of rugby? Not in a million years. But it’ll do me after the disappointments of the last decades. 😂 Hope Kieran Dixon ok. Possibly broken arm.
