Was anyone else a bit puzzled by the crowd being announced at 1,442 yesterday?

We were in the stand to the left of the 1895 Bar and honestly it seemed packed in that stand and in the two stands either side of us.

According to the internet, Joe Royle Stand’s capacity is somewhere between 2,300 and 2,600.

Now I didn’t check every section but it just seemed a bit unlikely that at least 1 in every 3 seat was empty yesterday.

Do certain fans like the free kids, ex-players association or pie and peas not get counted?

Have they stopped counting the free kids, because I agree, it was packed in most places

If the 1442 is correct it's massively disappointing considering the weather and importance of the game. Can't blame the M/C derby but I feel we could have had an earlier kick off.

Like what has already been said the word has to get out there using whatever means at our disposal.

I thought I heard it announced as 1400

Which was abit a shock given how full it looked and how full it looks on the recent post on the club socials thanking fans for their attendance also on Drinkwater's post match interviews he says "there's more here than usual, and they've made a big difference"

Did we announce the attendance incorrectly?

Chatting to Mike Ford before the game and he told me that there had been 1600 pre sales. I suspect that the crowd figure reflects paying customers and that the free kids tickets weren't counted.  Just a guess.

Honestly a 1,600 - 1,700 crowd seemed about right for yesterday. It definitely felt busier than York and that was 1,525.

It would be useful to know what guidelines the club has in respect of "what to count". The IMG cut off from 0.75 to 1.5 is at the 1,500 mark.

Appreciate yesterday was not a league game but if we are losing out because free kids are not counted then would £1 a kid increase reported attendance?

Any attending fan, free or paying, is counted in the attendance figure. However, tickets sold (including season tickets) do not count if the person does not attend.

it should tell you more about the crowd when the replays are shown.

taken from the sheepfoot lane stand

Watching Barrow's penalty kick from the halfway, it does look like the far left of the stand was sparsely populated. Still looked like a good number of fans though.
