fevnut Posted April 10 Posted April 10 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. Oh, what joy it was to leave Post Office Road at the end of last Sunday’s game after we put an end to our abject losing run, Following the demise of the Cornwall club we have researched the history of new clubs being brought into the professional game and it is a pathetic saga. We are not against expansion, but it needs to be done much, much better. Access the page by clicking on the link below. https://bit.ly/4ju0I4U 1
fevnut Posted April 16 Author Posted April 16 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. Yes, we lost last Sunday but it was a great match and a highly creditable performance from Fev. That was the first of a trio of very tough matches but our next two opponents have, in the past, provided Fev with some spectacular results. We finish this week with looking at three strange choices our coaches have made when allocating squad numbers. Access the page by clicking on the link below. https://bit.ly/3XY4D1y
fevnut Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. What a match that was last Friday! It’s what makes being a Fev supporter so great! Apart from writing about that game we also write about player loans and the weird start to 2025 for our lates loanee. Then, prompted by the match official appointments for the Match against Toulouse we suggest a way that the RFL could improve their pool of match officials. fevnut Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. We felt very disappointed by Fev’s performance against Toulouse but have since managed to be a bit more rational about it. The League One fixture list has become ridiculous with clubs having long gaps between matches. We reveal the shocking details. We end this week’s article by paying tribute to Paul Sykes who achieved a wonderful landmark last weekend. Access the page by clicking on the link below. https://bit.ly/3EMLg50
fevnut Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. This week we take a look at how difficult it is to predict the final standings in a Championship season with even knowledgeable journalists seeming to get it hopelessly wrong. The video ref season was a good idea, but it is now destroying the flow of matches with the long breaks in play. Finally, we have our say on the disgusting abuse that has appeared on social media about a player who, for very sad reasons, decided to leave our club. Banjorovers Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Well said about abuse of Thomas Lacans. Hope the abusers take note of Fevnuts wise words. 2

Fevrover Posted May 8 Posted May 8 It's absolutely terrible writing things like that, and like TheYoungBaron says it easy to be a keyboard warrior. Don't they realise it's people's lives they are 'messing' in. I hope Thomas didn't read them, best of luck to the lad and his family. 2
fevnut Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 (edited) fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. This week we write about last week’s great win at Widnes and explain why games over there always make us feel apprehensive. Something we suspect we share with those Fev fans who were around from the late 70s to the mid 90s. It’s a very special match coming up against Oldham this week and that’s not just because a place at Wembley is at stake. We finish this week with a few words about shirt designs. Fevrover Posted May 15 Posted May 15 (edited) Talking of Oldham never having reached Wembley yet,in 1964 they drew with Hkr 5-5 in the semi final and in the replay were winning 17-14 and with 12 minutes of extra gone bad light made it too difficult to see so it was abandoned. They lost the replay 12-2 ,are they jinxed or due an appearance at Wembley? we shall find out on Sunday. That season in the cup there were 9 replayed games, imagine that now lol. fevnut Posted May 22 Author Posted May 22 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. This week we justifiably rave about our trip to Oldham last Sunday What a game! Also included are some words about the difficulties some Championship players face when they are recruited by Super League clubs. We try to set straight another conspiracy allegation on the Fev fans page, this time about the RFL and London Broncos and we finish with a reference to a readers poll on TotalRL about when supporters of RL most like to watch our sport on television. The Grinder Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Hi Fevnut, We have already won 4 times at Wembley 1967 v Barrow 1973 v Bradford 1983 v Hull 2021 v York So if we were to win this year it would be 5 wins out of 7 visits (though I'm not counting any chickens yet). Losing in 1952 to Workington and 1974 to Warrington. I'm sure I'll think of something funny to say soon.
fevnut Posted May 28 Author Posted May 28 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. This week we give our thoughts on the Batley game and follow that up with some thoughts about this Sunday’s game at Barrow. Social media seems to be constantly having posts about new signings for Fev. Sometimes they turn out to be true but quite often they have no basis in fact. A new one has come up this week and although we have no idea whether it is true we give some thought as to whether, if it did happen, it would be a good move. fevnut Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 (edited) fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read and it’s a WEMBLEY SPECIAL! After some brief comments about Fev’s excellent win at Barrow last Sunday, we move on to all things Wembley writing about all the occasions that both Fev and York have appeared there including particular references to the meeting between us in 2021. We end this week’s musings with a listing of the details for all the seven matches at Wembley that have involved either York, Fev or both. Should be a reminder of memories for the fans of both clubs. fevnut Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read and it’s a WEMBLEY SPECIAL! After a few words about the 1895 Cup Final we explain why after having started going to Wembley in 1955 last weekend will definitely be the last time. The lack of provision for people with mobility problems is shameful. We finish by responding to a request we received from a Fev fan about any previous Fev matches in which no tries were scored. We have found that there have been at least 18 of them dating from 1922 right through to 1999. Access the page by clicking on the link below. https://bit.ly/3SPBG4R
fevnut Posted June 18 Author Posted June 18 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’. We had to write about the Hunslet match albeit with a sour taste in our mouth. We had to work hard to find anything positive to say! Up until last week, 5 Fev players had played in every game during 2025 but now it is down to 4. We hail the first ever knighthood for a RL player and put forward some more compelling cases for those have graced our sport. We finish with something ludicrous by way of an email to Super League clubs from the RFL. Access the page by clicking on the link below. https://bit.ly/4nf79vl
fevnut Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 (edited) fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’. This week brought the very sad news of the death of a friend who we sat with in the stands both home and away for many, many years. A lovely man and we pay our tribute to him. After a few words about the match against Halifax we turn our attention to the highs and lows of bringing in players from the southern hemisphere. We end by telling you about one set of statistics that we produce weekly that has become very misleading and how we have now amended it to give a more honest comparison. fevnut Posted Thursday at 14:35 Author Posted Thursday at 14:35 fevnut’s musings: New article available The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’. Having left York in a very low mood last Sunday, watching the game on video and reflecting upon it has made us rethink what we feel about that game. Looking forward to this week we believe that it is a crucial game for Fev but we show why it is virtually impossible to make any prediction. We end with musings about the perils of any club moving from the Championship to Super League however much we would like to see the return of promotion and relegation.
