Painful as I'm married to a lifelong Wire fan , but they will win and win they will.

There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so..

Apologies for quoting Shakespeare but....

After Wires loss Vs FC id imagine the their fans will want nothing but a solid win, it should be a cracking match.
Is Burgess under as much pressure as Wellens if Wire fail to win anything this season ?.

I doubt it, but on paper, Wire are a far more balanced team. Sneyd gives them the advantage and Leigh lack firepower in the backs bar Nui and Armstrong.

Leigh might do it though purely because of Warringtons poor record at the LSV.

Nothing wrong with quoting Shakespeare , although I think she would be lost without Hathaway

As a London fan who has followed our ex players and Warrington we knows how hard it is to keep players on side and motivated as Mike Eccles did so well as did Danny Ward during his tenure so I think the difference is the coaches experience and their approaches to situations - Lam and Cartwright are both experienced at this level and it shows in the way they respond to results with their players and handle losses. Burgess and Wellen are relatively new to this side of the fence, the former seems to have so far come out unscathed despite losses and the blame has been placed with players which the wire fans follow blindly - London fans aren’t like that so it’s interesting to see clubs and fans react.

Dan Russell has been dropped without mention following the Wakefield game so that loss must have been placed solely down to him - the stats are nowhere to be seen now so hard to see who is doing well or not. in the Wigan game the team as a whole played poorly, Williams missed 2 less tackles than Leyland who was then dropped and the inference was that he was the sole cause of that loss but he played 27 games for us last year and was not blamed for the defeats as the yeam And coach took ownership. he played 2 games in SL this year for Wire,  won one lost one so could be the common denominator as no single player can. The Wakefield game was equally woeful but did not have Leyland involved!-the solution - buy sneyd which was a great scoop but as a coach I reckon he should have looked at how he can build from within to ensure the players had confidence rather than look to solve elsewhere. Now that there is chat on here about Williams being injured he can’t play leyland as he’s not had any games since 1st March so poor prep. Is this the Difference between him and wellen maybe? Time will tell But definitely the difference between him and more experienced coaches.

Maybe not now Williams is missing, that's a huge loss.

It'll be a more difficult task without Williams but I think we'll do it by 6 points.

Leigh have no backline. Hopefully Charnley back to score his usual 4 pointer.

Looks like Brand and Hodgson at Centre so a great opportunity for them.

Aye are most effective strike force this season our 2 centres out for 4 to 6 weeks, not only that they are the two who are best at running the ball back from defence.

As good as Williams is he can't be in 2 places at the same time on either side of the field, for that reason I will say the absence of our two centres will disrupt Leigh mores than George not being available for Wire.

I should imagine the game plan for Wire will be Sneyd kicking down field long and often towards Leigh's touchlines followed with a strong chase to capitalise on our inexperience in the centres/flanks.

Could be Jack Hughes gets selected at centre🥴

That would've been the game plan regardless.

Lam has said that if Charnley is back then Hodgson will play left centre. If he isn't, I hope he goes with either Towse on the wing, or Badrock at centre. Hughes might be ok filling in there if injury requires during a game, but no way he should be starting at centre. That said, there's no way he should be starting at stand off, but that didn't stop us last season.

Sneyd kicked a lot to centre field last week v Hull FC, perhaps that may have been big Sam's plan with Pryce being new to fullback for FC?

I expect Towse to play, I wouldn't play Hughes in the centre but as you say he got a 6 spot last season so who knows? Badrock at centre never contemplated that probably because I haven't been over impressed with him so far.

And re Charnley we had the usual from Mr Lam "We will give 'name player' up to kick off" but said player making an appearance is as rare as hens teeth.

Sky bet too close to call.

Warrington get +2 start.

Odds for a win

Leigh odds on 8/11

Warrington  11/10 against...

Just looking at the table, if Leigh win - albeit unlikely I think, but lives in hope - and if as expected both Wakey and Cats win, Wire will be in 9th spot, oops.

Now Harry don't get to giddy you will do yourself an injury at your age.

Harry I have noticed Warrington have named a 17yr old half back who is a former Leigh miners junior in the 21 man squad, do you have any knowledge about him.
