Those are all mainly young players. Real shame about Calum he started the season very well

This is what makes the game a farce. Seems that  dual reg has a huge bearing on results and clubs set out to rely on the system when assembling small squads

But, Oldham started with a squad of 32. Last night we were down to 17. Thee of those were really not fit to play.  15 players are either out injured or forced retirement. It is a tough league.

I aren’t doubting you. Just saying some clubs factor in not assembling a squad before a ball is kicked

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

Back on track, talking about the footy.

Fev 10 v TO 18

Featherstone were awful and TO weren't much better.

I'm sure you could be more specific, but as an outsider with a quick glance at your squad, about 1/3 were under 30, 1/3 were between 30-35 and 1/3 over 35. That last group are vulnerable to injury and retirement, as are the middle group, to a lesser extent. York did something similar perhaps 3-4 seasons ago, just went a bit too heavy with the ex-SL players who were doing 1 or 2 more seasons in the championship, with broken bodies and have found out that the championship is still a tough league.

Barrow beat Doncaster 24 - 19.

Some of the predictions pre game baffled me on this one. Doncasters team on paper is significantly better than Barrows.

Happy to get the win, the boys our punching well above their weight.

And you deserved the win. Good game. A bit more composure late on and it could have been different. No complaints

Due to work commitments I watched the game on the Youtube channel.

I appreciate what you're saying RSN as no-one expected us (Barrow) to be 2nd in the league.

However I thought we played the better rugby today and Donny really got their points from our mistakes.

It wasn't a classic but we are where we are with the ethos this team has. Long may it continue. 😀

We definitely deserved the win, I was just saying their team was better on paper.

I felt our spine won us the game with kicking and control. Doncaster had more muscle all over the park but we played smarter and better rugby. All of Doncasters points came from intercepts or brilliance from Rhys Lynne.

TO were less awful than Fev, but it's the 2 points that matter.

Game not played on paper and form plays a big part.
