Dave Whelan "In Wigan rugby will always be king"

Ā

This country's wealth was created by men in overalls, it was destroyed by men in suits.

You worry about Newman against the Aussies with stuff like that.Ā

Newman doesn't deserve to be in the 24 IMO.

Won’t affect the result, but laughable that’s a red compared to Sinfield’s.Ā

Rovers lacking energy and the team selection and in game subs has cost them the 2 points. 2 unused subs nearly an hour in.Ā

Well that's a joke that being a red card where there was clear mitigation yet Sinfield got a yellow where there was none.

Sinfield was low level force, and he was wrapping his right arm, even if he wasn't wrapping his left which is what he hit the ball carrier with.

The only mitigation was the height in Sue's tackle, and it was a lot more forceful.

Wow. Just wow. Couldn’t have been much more than 3ft above ground when contact was made.Ā

I think the refs description was fair though as to why red. There was zero attempt to make it a legal tackle and it always had a high degree of danger.

They aren't mirror challenges whatsoever.

Of course there's similarities, there's very little difference, and dont try and claim Sinfield "wrapped" in the tackle.

Yes but he didn't suddenly drop his height. He was already low when Sue lined him up.

If that is a red card, then Sinfield’s is a red card. You can’t have one without the other. I’m sorry, but that’s just an indisputable fact.

I’d be happy if both were given the same punishment. Whether yellow or red. But how do you justify the distinction?Ā

Yup, feed has gone.

It’s all a conspiracy as Leeds run the RFL

That looked a very harsh red to me on first glance. Looked very inconsistent from others seen this yearĀ

Thought the same, if that was red so was the earlier one which Sinfield did.

He literally wrapped his right arm in the tackle.

There is a huge amount of difference, just in the level of force that was applied.

Sinfield wasn't wrapping at all and was 3rd man in with his shoulder when he had plenty of time to react.

I'd agree but Wane tends to stick loyal to players and for all the talk of X or Y player being in, I don't think we'll see much difference to last year's squad (although even Waney can't pick Chris Hill).Ā

If you listen to the explanation provided then you can’t argue with the outcome although some will

His right arm was in a "wrapping" motion though, unlike Sue who had both arms down by his sides.

Lisone was lowering himself drastically. There's high contact from Sue, but there wasn't anywhere for his arm to go. A yellow would have been fair, but a send-off is pretty insane. Massive mitigation due to Lisone's positioning.

Clearly the wrong call IMO.

What is the difference with the Sinfield offence?

In the Siu case he was one of the two primary tacklers, and the attacker was in a lower position. It was a lesser offence. I’m fine if both were red, the gap was marginal. But it is impossible to argue that Sinfield as yellow and Siu as red is consistent. Genuinely interested to hear you try to do so…
