Favourite: Station Road, Swinton

Worst: Underbank Rangers for the drystone wall about 3 yards from my touchline.

:kolobok_wild:😄

My mate did rude things over that wall on my 18th Birthday party there!!!!

That wasn't me Daz. Best ground not really a RL ground but Tottenham by a country mile. Fondness for the Harvey Haddon touch rugby at the back of the stand good times.

And yes some good away days in the old 3rd division with piffle, pucka and the trike man 🙂

When I first went to away grounds I thought  they were all wonderful. Over time I came to dislike some and I suspect that was because we tended to lose when we went there. When the grounds began to show not only their age, wear and tear but were becoming uninviting and dingy I had second thoughts. As I got old I came to appreciate the beauty of a real RL stadium. Many of the criticisms of them seemed just about personal preference which is the way it should be but I couldn't always see any difference. When the RFL encouraged clubs to sort out their stadiums I thought that's probably just as well. When I realised that some had done nothing or very little but carried on as if they'd never been told I thought what a waste of time and some have really been fooled there.

Dislike Headingly and only just above Odsal (soon to be an SL ground🤣) which sums up RL I suppose.

Iffley Road, Oxford, was a glorious place to watch RL on a nice day. The ground at Abingdon was best viewed on a very foggy day.

Abingdon is also in the running for the lowest capacity stand in world Rugby League.

Favourite: Strike me down for saying it, but Wigan has great sight lines and can be a cracking atmosphere when it’s full. Also, not a popular one, but I don’t think there’s a bad seat at Wembley. Tottenham was pretty special, and if we’re talking ‘atmosphere’ then Lamport Stadium was beyond unique.

Least favourite: Olympic Stadium but hopefully one we won’t be seeing again. In terms of club grounds, Odsal is an outright leader since the demolition of Don Valley. The only two grounds where I’ve outright refused to attend purely because of the poor view.

Used to like Odsal during the Bullmania days. It has its own microclimate that's 10 degrees colder than the coldest place in the rest of the UK at any given time though, so it must be terrible nowadays.
