I think most Oldham fans are extremely pleased with the start we have had, probably same as Barrow and Halifax. To be sat 4th after 9 games with 12 points is a huge achievement. Exciting times to be an Oldham fan, but superior no. Great following again from the travelling fans. I didn’t catch the crowd but didn’t seem that many there, although the stadium is huge and probably makes the crowd look smaller 3

Happyed Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I’m curious to see how attendances generally were impacted by the bank holiday and magic weekend. The doni crowd seemed really poor - mid hundreds
shaw llewellyn Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Noticed in a report that Doncaster used their 18th man. Anyone know how that came about?
m brooksy Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Jeez we made hard work of that. First 20 we were excellent and completely dominated field position and fully deserved our lead. Then we had a horrendous 15 mins where Milner made a PTB mistake on their line. 2 back to backs pens then some terrible decision making from Ashurst gave them the easiest try of the season. If we can cut down our errors especially the stupid ones we look a good team. Second half was very similar. Dominate first 20 and get a very good 18 point lead then somehow almost chuck it all away giving away pens to get them up the pitch. Doncaster looked a very powerful side with Briscoe, Lynne and Hepi proving a massive handful. Thought the ref was actually decent first half then lost the plot second half where we didn't get one decision until the 80th min offside Drinkwater was obviously superb. Then stood off him all game trying to keep their shape and he just carved them up. The two props were fantastic again in Dudson and Ted. Forber looked very good at hooker playing the full game and really hope we can keep him until Wildie is back. Thought Lawton the last two games has looked a lot better in the second row but is still trying to get his match fitness back to play the 80. Turner was very good as well carrying the ball out of our territory. 4

Agree with that summary Brooksy.. we lost something when Gil and Ted went off to be replaced by Lannon and Baxter in physical terms. We are currently operating with 4 Props and i can only assume Jay is carrying an injury as he is not putting games in back to back. Ben Davies looked decent especially in that opening spell but neither he or Turner got much decent ball in space as we regularly turned the ball back inside. Jacob douglas had a torrid time against Gebbie who can be a real handful but also turned over the ball returning our kick which ultimately lost Doncaster any chance of winning. The battle between Hepi and Lawton was worth the admission alone. Adam seemed to pick up a knee injury and JT was also carrying a problem I believe. I agree Forber was excellent with subtle changes of direction and jumping out of dummy half making our carries much more effective. 5

Bedford Roughyed Posted May 5 Posted May 5 1 1 With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
Ex-scrumhalf Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Can someone tell me what has happened to Ben O'Keefe please? During the latest injury crisis, in which we have suffered more in the backs than the forwards, there has been no mention of him at all despite the need for experienced centres/wingers. In my opinion he was a decent player who could have filled a problem position for us. Has he suffered a bad injury that is keeping him out for the duration? Is he out of favour with the club and if so why? Or has he left the club? Either way I must have completely missed something and would be grateful if someone could put me wise.

Last game was Barrow away, I think. 9th March.
chiefgeneral Posted May 5 Author Posted May 5 He was on one of the recent training videos. Was due to play in one of the games but dropped out due to injury. Not sure what the extent is
sheddingswasus Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Looks like he was training with ET. Maybe only on light training?

Ex-scrumhalf Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Thanks for the info on O'Keefe guys. Just read on another thread that the club do not release much information about injuries so that other clubs aren't made aware, but does that really make any real difference? I think as supporters we are entitled to know exactly what our injury situation is, by which I mean how long do we expect injured players to be missing. Its frustrating to see a 21 man squad on Friday then find 5 or 6 missing from the final 17 and even more so when those 17 are different on match day as occurred recently. However information after that event seems to suggest it was indeed very much last minute and therefore unavoidable. I think our club is being run extremely well and we are better off than we have been for quite some time for which I, among others, am grateful to BQ and MF along with others who work tirelessly behind the scenes, but can't help feeling that info on Injuries is inadequate and would appreciate improvements in this area. 1

RoughyedsFan_merged Posted May 7 Posted May 7 If Forber is not going to be available for a run of games, we need to be replacing Wildie more permanently. The difference to the speed of our attack with a proper 9 is so crucial. 1
