Game on!

Messiest try one is likely to see.

A defender barged over (probably OK as it was inside shoulder), a slap out of the ball, the attacker half giving up in his run due to uncertainty, and a simultaneous grounding - in the eyes of the VR.

I thought the defender's hand was on the ball first as it went towards the ground.

Possibly but at the point the ball was on the floor both hands were on it so that is simultaneous grounding.

There was a recent decision where the video ref clearly explained that the inside shoulder thing isn't a defence if the contact is substantial. That was substantial and he was four or five yards ahead of the ball. He doesn't have to be there.

Crossing and defused by Catalans. No try on two counts imo.

Yeah, I seemed to recall it from a Wire game, thought it was the Saints one tbh.

And I thought it was right to be chalked off. Inside shoulder is still the tackler. It should be used as an indicator not a black and white rule.

If Ben Thaler rules Batchelor has two left hands the TV is going out of the window.

Exactly Archie.

Obviously Big Nige is in the box with Thaler, thinking about the ticket sales for the final

Consistency is missing - this is where we must get sorted

That looks like try.

Rugby Union the only game in the world were the spectators handle the ball more than the players.

No way was that simultaneous.

Does simultaneous apply to a situation when the ball's on the turf? In this one, the defender brought his hand to it first and then Batchelor added his hand just before the ball was touching the ground.

Surely that's not simultaneous. You go with the man with the first hand on the ball, I would have imagined.

Our VR decisions are like RU scrums. Tedious AF. I wonder how many casuals reach for the remote.

That was slow but it was actually good work by Thaler. Found the right angle and gave the correct decision.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

All the people who swore they'd put their foot through the TV screen and sent Lord Reith the bill seem to be still here.
