Is it true, are we to host a Super League game between Huddersfield v Wigan?

Yes, on June 14th. All ticket I believe.

I would have expected more comments on here about it.

Super League coming to town is a big thing, and positive news about Dewsbury and its facilities!

Strange how our ground is now deemed suitable for SL rugby when it wasn’t in 2000?

To be fair, it has improved substantially over the years, all thanks to volunteers, sponsors and MS!

A BIG thank you goes to everyone of them.

Yes, it's not as if anything has changed in 25 years.

Will the South Stand turnstiles be open then?

Oh, and will there be beer in the South Stand bar?

If you are thinking of going then best ask the club. I am sure it will be all-ticket with the tickets being sold by Huddersfield and Wigan; I may be wrong but would doubt that we would be selling tickets. I don't know what our current capacity is but wouldn't imagine that it is much greater than 6000.

Looking at the comments on other parts of the forum, 5,100 was stated (Not sure how true this is)

I would imagine the alcohol sales will be higher than any other game we have hosted. I hope we make the most of this, I feel sure MS and the team will be planning to maximise the sales in any way they can.

This will probably set the highest attendance for the ground.

It just might highlight to others the facilities and service we can provide, local football teams or super league clubs will be checking out what happens I'm sure.

Will the telly be there, because the way they have set themselves up in the past has had a large negative effect on the capacity. Not that it mattered then, but it will if Wigan are coming.

Hope to go to this match and have met a few other non-Dewsbury/Hudds fans who also plan to get tickets.

Interesting to note on the main board how Huddersfield fans are looking forward to a "better game day experience" at our ground. I'd agree. It can't be much fun rattling around a big soulless soccer stadium and the same can be said of a lot of grounds we travel to see Dewsbury play at. We're very lucky in a lot of ways.

Sadly this club has stagnated for years now.Div.1 is a terrible league. How can clubs survive on a few games now and again.  I would merge with the giants and ask Mr.Davey to buy the ground and turn it into a 10,000 specci. stadium.

We may have stagnated on the pitch but at least we're (apparently) in the black, have our own ground (which is bloody nice compared to many others) and are giving local players a chance to shine.
We're not calling in the receivers or blowing cash we don't have on NRL has-beens, only to get the begging bowl out at the end of the season when it all goes pear-shaped.

The purpose should be to win rugby games. We haven't done that for years now.Tjhe crowds are poor.We have got two  huge  new housing estates next door.We need a quality coach and players. At the moment we  are ticking over and going nowhere.

It must be my memory but I'm sure that we won plenty of games two years ago. Criticise a failure to back that up last season maybe but it helps to get your facts right first.

I thought our squad should be a serious top 4 contender this season. But we look an outside bet even for 4th place now with only half the season gone.

Anyone knows what's happened to Tommy Brearley and Jack Briggs?

You are three points of top spot, 1 point out of 4th place and you are already writing the season off before half way. Talk about glass half empty….

I don't think MS has a magic money tree at the end of his garden, so I'm sure your injection of cash to make all this happen will be gratefully accepted.

The top 3 have all got a game in hand as have Rochdale below us. And given our poor form and coach, we are an outside bet for 4th.

Well technically he does have a magic money tree in his bookies and other business interests. But after spending I'm guessing well over £1m over last 20 years (20 x £50K ? per annum but I have no inside info) then completely get why he doesn't want to spend another small fortune given promotion is going to be next to impossible for next couple of seasons.
