Only difference to you is that I'd have Joe Law keeping his place at centre, and Oli Field on the bench instead of Fitzy

Ok, here we go. The semi-final that the eventual winner comes from!

Ticket sales are good, weather will be great, a grand day of cup rugby ahead.

I don't think we had any injury concerns from the Batley game, possibly Fulton - he came off but looked like more precautionary than anything else. One or both of Lawrence & Donaldson may be available.

Both teams have a lot of strike out wide and the pitch should favour an expansive game. I can't really split the teams at the moment. Should be nervous, but fun

1895 Cup. Match officials for Sunday.

York RLFC v Bradford Bulls

18th May, KO: 15:00
  • M Com: M. Hebblethwaite
  • Referee: C. Worsley
  • Reserve Referee: K. Moore
  • Touch Judge 1: P. Brooke
  • Touch Judge 2: E. Mccarthy
  • Time Keeper: A. Hardcastle

We've dodged a bullet there. The other semi final ref is Mr Mikalauskas.

I'd agree with you on that RB, with either Law or Field starting at Centre (with the other as interchange) and Fitz missing out...but would be still be pretty happy if either of those 17s took to the field on Sunday - Definitely our strongest team(s) in the absence of BJB and if we aren't good enough to win the game with those, then the Bulls will have earned their Wembley trip. Really looking forward to it - has the potential to be an absolute cracker.

Cameron Worsley has been one of the most improved refs recently IMHO So feel that's a good appointment.

I'm glad we've not got an SL ref either. We had Marcus Griffths last year and quite frankly ruined the game. Felt he came with the attitude "I'm an SL ref don't you know" Let's just say he didn't go unnoticed during the game.

Agree with above comments. Feel this will be a blockbuster of a game. usually not much between the sides anyway, and both in good form. Big crowd, outstanding stadium (my first visit to your new gaff). The winner of this goes onto lift the trophy IMO.

May the best team win.

Every chance there’s going to be a record crowd. And why wouldn’t there be? Both clubs in great form. Matches between the clubs have been very close. Think the Knights will have the edge. Knights by 8.

Beer and York Knights. Proof the God loves us and wants us to be happy. 🍺🏉

What is the record crowd? As far as I can tell, only the East and South stands are open for Sunday

Doubt it - games that are not on the Season Ticket (even with the discounted entry price) tend to lose a few regulars, unfortunately.

When they refer to a record crowd in this context i think it’s the matches between the Knights and the Bulls. I think it stands at about 4,200 set at Bootham Crescent a few years ago. Out of interest, The LNER stadium record stands at around 8400. Capacity is 8500.

The source: Our friend the Gamecaller.

More than 2,000 Bradford Bulls supporters are set to travel to the LNER Stadium an eagerly anticipated semi-final match in the 1895 Cup against their rivals, the York Knights on Sunday. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with two of the Championships form teams aiming to secure their place in the final at Wembley next month. Bradford have already seen Batley, Halifax and Oldham break their attendance records this season with sizeable away support. The latest attendance record to break on Sunday is 4,221 which was the very first game between the sides in the modern era back in 2018. Joe Keyes securing a dramatic 22-20 win for the Bulls after the hooters had gone.

How many would the club/stadium people deem a significant enough number to even publish what the attendance is though? They never normally bother...

If that figure is true got to give the Bradford supporters a lot of credit in getting behind the team.

Not sure what behind sticks holds when going on the away ticket to buy 4 of the blocks have been sold out it seems and can only click on two blocks from behind the sticks.

really looking forward to this one overall 80 minutes from Wembley weathers meant to be bang on again and a big crowd can not wait summer rugby in full force

York Knights record attendance at LNER is 5369 for anyone wondering. The record RL attendance is 8402 for the semi final last Saturday which is a stadium record for any sport there.

Remember it clearly - penalty awarded inside the Bulls half, Keyes slots the kick from three yards from three yards inside ours🧐

Wasn't there 6,500 in the sun at Odsal for the return fixture, which we won ?

Benny had the Bulls in knots in the first half that day.

One of my favourite ever rugby moments was Judah going full length for the try that sealed it. I've got his shirt from that game, wish it fit me!

Yep. One of my favourite memories just topped by daggers in Toulouse last year

Personal favourite of mine was the 2019 fixture against the Bulls at Bootham Crescent, with the Liam Harris drop goal to win it in the last couple of minutes, after Jordan Liley had hit the post with a penalty that could have won it for the Bulls.

Seriously exciting, and the most entertaining coach meltdown ever afterwards - John Kear ended up accusing the timekeeper of ending the match 30 seconds early 😂

I remember my twitter being filled for weeks by the Odsal Gob complaining. It went from him saying the hooter went 30 seconds early, and it kept going up. I’m sure by the end he was saying it went 15 minutes early!

Win or lose Sunday, at least York don’t have this song associated with them 🤦‍♂️

That's quite possibly the worst thing I've ever heard, thanks.
