Good half, and more  to come in 2nd half. PTBs on both sides Much cleaner than last nights maul-a-thon..

No they aren't, they're exactly the same. Loads of players leaving hands on players.

Leigh still have a chance in this. Wigan are once again conceding very soft tries, which means we could easily concede several in quick succession. We did so against Wire and also against Hull FC in the cup game.

French to Eckersley = magic!

Smith switches from left to right, French skirts across pulling Lam out with his show, and then flicks to young Eckersley.

The sort of magic that only he can sprinkle on SL.

Gave away two set restarts and got what they deserved. Brilliant try all the same.

I thought the second one was a tad harsh on Ipape.

Not Keighran's best day with the boot.

Nsemba takes out two Leigh defenders there. Hanley came in, but the other defender was stopped from drifting across.

Nsemba can be pretty clumsy with those barges as the dummy runner, as he attracts defenders and makes contact.

No Try for me.

It can't be a no try. Hanley makes contact with Nsemba first and as soon as he does that Nsemba can't possibly avoid any contact with the other player. The first contact from Hanley can only negate any contact with the defender his tackle forces Nsemba into.

Eckersley down hurt and receiving treatment. Fingers crossed he's okay.

I thought Nsemba obstructed the drift.

Yeah it was a poor read from Hanley, no problem with the try being given

But only after the contact was made by Hanley. You can't penalise Nsemba for obstruction on that player when he only made contact because of Hanley's tackle.

I think he would have stopped the drift regardless of the Hanley decision/contact. Hanley had his inside shoulder run at by Nsemba. Hanley came in, but Nsemba hit him first.

Immaterial anyway; Wigan are going to win this.

Eckersley finally stretchered off and the tackle put on report. No replay being shown, which is always a worry.

I think that kick ricocheted off the International Space Station!

Don't know why they didn't show a replay of the potential crusher tackler, rather than kicking the can down the road to Monday.

If it's a bad crusher and the video is available, it should be looked at. Just because poor Eckersley got injured is no reason to dispense with the process.
