Don't know why they didn't show a replay of the potential crusher tackler

TV companies are usually eager to show replays (to highlight an amazing moment or provoke controversy or both), so when they don't it's probably for a good reason.

If it's a bad crusher and the video is available, it should be looked at. Just because poor Eckersley got injured is no reason to dispense with the process.

Unfortunately it may be because it's a potentially serious injury. If a player broke a leg in a tackle they wouldn't show a replay. Though that doesn't bode well for Eckersley.

Injuries are part of the game. I think the process should be followed, regardless of injury.

Eckersley conscious and alert, and being taken to hospital.

TV replays aren't part of the process. The broadcaster decides what they show. The video ref still looked at the incident and that bit is the process and it was followed. That's why Kendall said they'd reveiwed it and couldn't work out if there was foul play or not.

Edwin Ipape Man of the Match in a losing side, for me.

Wigan have meandered through this, with a lot of it in second gear.

Fair play to Leigh for making it close. It wasn't a real edge-of-the-seat affair though, despite what the scoreboard says.

Really enjoyed that game, a second cracker of a derby for completely different reasons. Some really silky tries on both sides

Yes. Credit to both teams and winner in doubt till  more or less the final whistle.

It’s not fair. Wigan scored two tries by cheating, by having French play for them. Some soft tries conceded as well though.
And to think, the last time they played each other it was 0-0 after 80!

Hope Eckersley is ok.

Isn't it the VR process to show what he is looking at?

Anyway, glad that Eckersley seems to have escaped without serious injury.

Not at all disappointed as a Leigh fan with the outcome of that game, after a full on intense game with a 5 day turn around against a team with 2 weeks training and rest. With Leigh not having a lot of luck with the proceedings early on and of course Wigan again having the luxuary of the 'French Factor', no ill will to Bevan but I would be very interested in seeing how Wigan go without him for an extended period.

Not many Leigh fans there, were the trains cancelled, or even the buses?

Been in really good form for a few weeks now in both attack and defence. Glad he’s tied down because he’s our best player by a mile

Said it last week Rob, Trout is running all his team mates close to being our best player overall this season.

Trout has been fantastic. Extremely fit lad and now beginning to bang in the tackle and have some pace.

He is having a great season so far.

Aye, but look at their fixtures, pretty easy for their class.

I think after Hull, we have a good few away too.

Relaying the pitches ?

That was comfortable enough. I think the serious injury after the Leigh crusher tackle took the edge off the rest of our performance. Astonishingly the perpetrator continued to stand over Zak for minutes as he was being put on a stretcher. Was he waiting for another go?

All thoughts are with Eckersley. A talented young man finding his way.

I've no problem with the Eckersley incident not being re-shown. But I do have a problem with the annoying Dave Woods talking over the referee explaining things to the captains afterwards.

Yeah I was starting to think it against Cats but I’m set on it after tonight, I think Trout stays 2nd row even when Halton is fit. I think Halton plays the workhorse through the middle and I think he has the size for it.

You couldn't get a more different game to the last Wigan V Leigh fixture could you! There were some really good trys scored and some ordinary defence. Wigan are really coasting at the moment and especially defensively look short of a bit of desperation but they'll build that back up when needed.

Full credit to Leigh btw. To keep going at 28-6 down, on the back of a short turnaround from a cup semi, just shows the sort of spirit they've built. The overseas recruitment really is top class.

It can't be a no try. Hanley makes contact with Nsemba first and as soon as he does that Nsemba can't possibly avoid any contact with the other player. The first contact from Hanley can only negate any contact with the defender his tackle forces Nsemba into.

That was how I saw it. Hanley needed to trust McNamara to make first contact on Nsemba if he got the ball. If he does that and the ball still goes out the back then obstruction probably is given because it wasn’t a great line he run.

Two or three tries conceded by being preoccupied by Nsemba
