Torrential rain right before kick off probably favoured Goole more than us but to be fair to Goole they kept plugging away and until that wonder try by Zarin it was an uncomfortable last few minutes. We made a few handling errors first half but were fairly solid in defence until the second Goole try where I lost count of how many tackles we missed.Happy to get the win and move onto next week against Dewsbury to avenge our cup defeat to them earlier in the season and I also think Mr Sweet actually had a decent game today and had the correct call with the Red Card.

Not the greatest performance but a wins a win, seen us lose these games in the last couple of years, Zarrins try was outstanding at the end, what a player he is 👍🤍💙

On the red card, how do they get a man sent off then get the penalty 🤔

Penalty was for us pushing the player into the ground and Red card was for his reaction to that and punching our player.

I was thinking well today we'll see how important Carter is to us and we got the answer I reckon. Credit to them  they didn't do much wrong but that was an ugly win, still two points though.

Jammer some nice kicks through, jake running as strong as ever,Fulton had tali in his pocket, and zarrins try sublime. Was Graham and carter injured ??

Reminded me of the Crusaders game both teams similar in size, this time we got the result. I thought we defended well in the first half but allowed them to gain momentum in the second. A wins a win UTT.

Graham was unavailable and Carter got a knock in training.

Not the best performance by a long way but always the sign of a decent side when you can still grind out a win even when your way off your game. Well done to Spencer Fulton on his mom, pretty much had Tali in his pocket all afternoon, his tackle technique is top notch.

In this day and age it appears there’s no loyalty to a club and it looks like a player will go to whoever is offering most money after the season ends,  so how refreshing it is to see 2 young pros signing well before the end of the season on 2 year deals. Both throughly deserve it, well done lads. UTT

Great to get the win but nearly threw it away. Back to mistakes with the ball, and some surprisingly weak defence in patches.

Goole have some good players in their team, and maybe just missing that key player that can run the game for them. But they tried to play to their strengths, but surprised to see an experienced player like Shaul throwing punches.

Thought Fulton was outstanding against Tali as unlike Ferres Tali is still a big threat. But he got absolutely nothing out of Spencer who's technique was flawless. Jamie was also really good again at halfback.

Zarrins try was superb, and I laughed at Ferres pretending to chase back. The try made it immaterial but why didn't we take two points a couple of times when we had pens right in front? The red card finished them off but boy did we make it hard for ourselves. But we can't be too critical when we won the game.

NWC scored 3 tries in the last ten mins but were only leading 12-6 at Keighley, and Midlands smashed the Jambos so it's going to be a close thing all season,  but good we are in the fight. UTT

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

It shows people know where we are when there's a big game on its just a case of convincing them its what they want to do with their Sunday afternoons. Being at the sharp end of the table and playing great rugby is a good start but there needs to be more attractive fixtures like a top of the table clash you can really promote.

Keep doing what you're doing on and off the pitch. Some Might Say it's a Supersonic Masterplan.

Need to merge champ and L1 - that will help

If league 1 teams are putting 70+ points on Newcastle what would teams in the top half of the championship score against them?

I dont think a straightforward merger makes sense. Some rationalisation into one division but that might involve moving some teams into the amateur leagues.

I think most Champ 1 teams would struggle until they found their feet, I would like to think most teams would gradually improve and start being very competitive. It’s the only way forward IMO, we are slowly being denied any access to the Championship, the clowns who run the RL are making it a closed shop. Can you imagine the EFL doing away with automatic promotion, it would kill the lower leagues in time.

With 23 teams in Champ/C1 it would mean that you cant play everyone H & A, so for example you dont play 7 teams at all , which when designed at start of first season it could be seeded so bottom of C1 dont play top Champ teams, Fixtures done by position numbers not team names. so works easy every season.

Not playing 7 teams means you would still play other 15 teams H & A like we used too pre SL start.1995

This current season started on 23/Feb. and ends on 7/Sept prior to play offs

During this we will only have 18 matches [9 home games] - during this period we will have had 11 blank weeks,   ELEVEN blank weeks THEREFORE almost 3 months of blank weeks - which means we could have played 15 teams [30 games] in this same timespan,

This is Probably to difficult for RFL to organize - but somebody clever could sort the fixtures out.
