9' oller Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Assistants don't always make good gaffers. Just like good players don't always make good coaches. He has however been part of the fabric for a while. Shame 1 'Shaw cross juniors, Birkenshaw, Mirfield, Heckmondwike Panthers, Stainland Stags and then the Heavy woolen donkeys... WARDY, STOZZA, GT, KARL OR KEAR MUST OF DROPPED A DIGIT FROM MY MOBILE NUMBER!
doggystyle Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Over a decade of great contributions in assisting roles. Head coach was a bridge too far, especially as we appear to be broke. Thanks for the good times and all your efforts Mokko and hopefully you get a better gig with more backing. That said it was time to go and I respect that you acknowledged this and took action. All the best Mark 2
phildog Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Set up for a fall, hasn't had financial backing, I suppose we'll just hand on to James Chapman and leave him with the farce. As a contributor to it I don't see any new coach bounce. Cheers Mokko, a seriously nice guy, honest as the day is long and just as responsible for recent good times as Linners, wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a deal to be done there! Meanwhile who will want this, who's available with any pedigree and player pull to it round? 2
phildog Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Just read a TRL print out of Kev's comments; says the search will began after Friday for a few coach....
9' oller Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Eagles are in strife and seemingly picking holes in our linners, too. Left field idea but player coach? Remember grayshon kuiti and molloy doing ok 'Shaw cross juniors, Birkenshaw, Mirfield, Heckmondwike Panthers, Stainland Stags and then the Heavy woolen donkeys... WARDY, STOZZA, GT, KARL OR KEAR MUST OF DROPPED A DIGIT FROM MY MOBILE NUMBER!
phildog Posted June 17 Posted June 17 But who 9' oller? That means a SL player of around 30/32 stepping away from his well paid contract. I would go completely left field; McNamara given a 3 month job, has contacts to bring in say 3 players to do jobs. He's not short of a bob or two or he'd have already been back in a job somewhere, a little bit of work keeping his hand in before he gets back into a big job next season. Or we see if JK still has an appetite for coaching. 1
Blind side johnny Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Lee Greenwood must be interested in returning to his old club. 2 Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

phildog Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Did ok at Bulls, but somebody with good pull of players would be preferable. I had thought about Chris Thorman but he's gone to York as assistant as part of a 3 way York/ Newcastle/Oz tie up, Graham Steadman gone to Thunder as Director of Rugby and Coach. We don't want a continuation coach though, too near to players to give a good ollocking, needs a new face.

He may be referring to our ubiquitous kit man....... or maybe not "you never win a game unless you beat the guy in front of you. The score on the board doesn’t mean a thing. That’s for the fans. il cattivo Posted June 18 Posted June 18 anyway for what it's worth I'd like to see Danny Ward in the job. I know that won't happen as we will (predictably) go for the cheapest option.....and he's got a good gig at Hull KR...possibly getting the top job there at some point. hey ho..... will be interesting to see which direction the club goes with this one.
