Going to be a bit of a warm one, temperature forecast mid twenties for Wakefield at 8pm Friday for kick off.

Hoping for Wakey win but i think the extra 24 hours rest Wigan have had come game day will tip game Wigans way.

Many of our pack running on empty at the moment as so many out injured. Cant see a win, just hope its a reasonably close score.

If Wigan play in a similar manner to recent weeks, we'll get beat. We don't have a great record at Wakey anyway and with the game coinciding with our usual mid season lull, I think this may be the week we run out of luck.

Wakey by 4.

Am looking forward to this. Our performances tend to dip this time of year - which may be a consequence of training patterns - but we are still string side. It’ll be great to see Havard and Thompson back together. Wigan can certainly win this, but it would not surprise me to see Trinity take us. They often beat us at their place, have an excellent coach and a strong side. Should be a cracker.

At last a nice relaxing game where anything other than a 50 point drubbing will be a moral victory.  Don't even need to waste our time playing Trueman.

Wigan by 30

Going for a Wigan win also by +8, too many players missing. We don't half get these rotten injuries and listening to Powell most of our middle unit to be out for at least 6 weeks still, ie Storton, Atoni, Rodwell, Celeb. Oli Russell could be 2/3 weeks and Tommy Doyle not too far away. Missed a few more, but still looking forward to it. Poor big Mike will need to find some extra as will Caius faatili...gonna be a roaster Friday night. Still you never know, we have a great home record against the World Champs - may it continue 🤞

Wigan win, probably by 10 or more. We've been close on so many occasions but don't seem to know how to win those games, Wigan proved on Saturday they can, even when not 100%. Main thing for me is for it to be competitive, anything more is a bonus.

I've no doubt we'll give them a game but can't see us winning.

Last Sunday was the first time the lads looked tired due to zero squad rotation.

Cozza, Pitts and Vangana are quality players who'll give their all but they're not natural front rowers.

Tbh if we're serious about getting in the playoffs we either put Lingard in or go out and get a prop (Ormondroyd).

A close game but think Wigan by 8.

Walked past Rodwell, Uele and Atoni in the fan zone, also with out McMeekan too. Trinity with only 1 recognised prop in the 17, going to be a tough night for the stand in middles against this Wigan pack.

McMeeken is weirdly underrated for a player of his stature/experience.

Out of curiosity, Harvey Smith hasn’t started many games has he?

No he usually comes on around the 60 minute mark to speed the ruck up, tough ask for the kid to start.

Gutted to see McMeeken not starting.

Excellent turn out for a Friday night from the fans of the Champs. 👏

Wigan should have more than enough to win tonight with the players Wakefield have missing but sometimes I think we play better against stronger sides. Sometimes there seems to be a lack of focus when we're heavily favoured. There's plenty of ressurance for Wakey fans expecting a drubbing given the way our form has been recently. Even when battering a shambolic Catalans side we were a bit out of sorts.

Wigan also have a habit of conceding some of the softest tries imaginable, particularly when we've dominated territory. It's like the players focus more when they believe it's a real contest and we're up against a team that can put us under heavy pressure.

If we win I think it will only be by a small margin, but I'm never confident when we play at Wakey as it's a ground we've struggled at plenty of times in the past. Even with players out there won't be a lack of effort.

Looks like Trinity will have to go for mobility and ball movement over power, given their bad luck with big guys.

Faatili will be up for it, at least. He's becoming a real favourite.

Might be a smart choice to start him. More leg speed and movement when the game is at its fastest. Pleased for him - great kid.

Jowitt down and receiving treatment. Possibly the last thing Powell wanted to see, especially so early on.
