only 2 weeks away Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I noticed during the video of the singing in the changing room the second verse was when the wasps go buzzing in..... Also when Clint was being interviewed the other week ( think it was post wembley) he had a hat on with a wasp on the front. Any chance we are going back to our original moniker of the wasps? Hope so 2
AB Knight Posted June 22 Posted June 22 (edited) I hope not. York Wasps only existed for 6 years, average finishing position was 10th before going out of business. Even the name - wasps - isn’t ideal, a wasp is often labelled as a pest. It’s not exactly great from a marketing perspective (which IMO needs an overhaul). Now, if the rumoured academy was to be called York Wasps that wouldn’t be too bad I guess. Edited June 22 by AB Knight

That might be the case officially but York RLFC were known as The Wasps from before I started watching them over 50 years ago obviously due to the amber and black hooped playing jerseys they wore. 8
KH17 Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Don't think it will be a full name change (with the badge change a couple of years ago and the Valkyrie etc...) But I think I know what our 'retro' shirt will be for retro round this year...... Maybe for 1 game we'll be listed as York Wasps or something like that. 1

The old Wasp logo , a fat Wasp that adorned the match day program is bottom left front of last seasons heritage shirt. Edited June 26 by Stirlin
Gav Wilson Posted June 26 Posted June 26 If we get a proper cotton retro range out of it (and maybe a trashy polyester 90's style tracksuit top) then I for one will be absolutely buzzing... 1 @GavWilson

Hope so Yes, I noticed that the second verse wasn’t the usual Knights chorus.
