we're becoming obsessed with which ref we get every week this should have no bearing on the outcome , back to the days when you didn't even notice the officials.

If it was up to me, no one would even know who the referee was until they set foot on the pitch.

Fair comment, what difference does it make whether we know or not, it is not as if you can ring up the RFL and say "that chap we have in the middle this week, I don't like him can we have someone else please?" it doesn't matter who is in the middle as long as they are competent and fair, which I am sure they try to be, even if we don't see it that way sometimes.

In fact, have them play in the home club's mascot outfit then we don't have any idea who it is even during the game. It'd add to the entertainment for the kids too.

I dont have a problem with any of the officials we get, there are some (that seem to be) poor decisions but they tend to even themselves out during the game, its a difficult job at full speed without any video replay, I just think the touch judges should get more involved, especially with forward passes.

What are touch judges ?

You don’t need to know, apparently they look a bit like referees but carry a flag, it is a mystery what they do so I wouldn’t worry about it.
