Well that didn't last long. signed for North Wales for 2026, empty words when he returned about loving the club. At the open meeting we announced we had signed up players for next year, every other club is releasing names, we are behind the curve again when it comes to positive news.

BTW, rugby is a short life span so not criticising the payer for maximising his earnings, there is no loyalty either way in rugby now. Just don't declare your love for the club one week and announce a move when not even being here a week, North Wales only need to sign about 2 more players and they will all be ex-swinton!

The temporary nature of Hatton's signing is understandably disappointing for Swinton supporters. His comments could easily have given people the impression of a greater commitment to Swinton. In reality a player of his quality is always going to be a prime target for wealthier clubs. Good luck to him in progressing his rugby career. In the short term his physical presence, skill and experience will be a boost for the team in the remainder of the season with difficult fixtures coming up. Who knows how important final league positions will be with the ridiculous uncertainty surrounding the competition going forward.

If Swinton have players signed for next season I wish they would start to announce them. Some good news would be a welcome boost.

The timings for the announcement re Hatton were all wrong and it makes you wonder if Wales did it to cause some resentment. Who knows?

Regardless we have a quality player for a few games and Im sure he will give his all. Shame he got injured yesterday however we seemed incapable of passing to our three quarters on either side.

Have North Wales suddenly come into some money then? They never had a pot to pee in when I was involved there, and without the supporters doing just about everything - voluntarily, there would be no club.

We need some good news, with this and porter everything seems to be depressing

It's not just Hatton, Cru have announced other players signing contract extensions for 2 year periods. It's almost as if the new owners are pinning all their hopes (and money) on getting promotion within 2 years. My fear for our club is that if it doesn't work they'll move on and leave us in the lurch. We've been there before and it ain't fun.

I can fully get where you guys are coming from, a year or two ago some of our best players came to you...it's the RL roundabout of the lower divisions unfortunately.

I really hope it works out for Crusaders. Fantastic, genuine supporters. They deserve some success. I plan to be at Swinton .v. Hurricanes on Sunday but 2pm kick off's don't suit me, the way buses are where I live in Winton. We'll see?
