jroyales Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 A great game in prospect. They will have the scoreline from our place plastered over all the walls in their changing rooms. We have a side, if they play to their potential, to turn them over and to have the double over the top side in the division. Up the Yeds! 3
shaw llewellyn Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 A few mistakes yesterday but nobody played badly. Hirst in particular played very well in second row. The dilemma for Longy is does he stick with those players or do Agoro, Turner, Pelissier, Ashurst and Lannon come back into the reckoning if they are fit? I expect a few differences of opinion before the starting 13 is announced on Sunday.

Pelissier yes for me; we need some zip from behind the ruck and he’s the only fast yardage maker from there on current form. Lannon and Ashurst are unnoticed grifters who do the dirty work and without whom the backs will struggle. Whether they’ve got the speed and element of initiative to troubled York I don’t know. Mo would always be a first name on the sheet for me, until recently when he’s looked rusty, not having had a good run of games. We’re in the previously unimaginable position of having a range of choices which is brilliant. Whoever plays, to get anywhere near holding York (who will be itching for revenge) is for every single one of our boys to stick to the game plan, not give penalties, defend brilliantly (which we do), kick them to death, AND STOP DROPPING THE FLIPPING BALL!!!! Just saying. 1
LittleboroRoughyed Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 If Turner is to come back in, it should be off the bench as an impact backrower, he doesn’t have the speed or agility anymore to compete against the better centres in the division but has enough speed, impact & ball playing ability to be a threat from one in. 4
RoytonRoughyed83 Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 Game is live on You Tube for anyone who isn't making the trip 1

White Knight Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 What sort of numbers are you expecting will travel across on Sunday? Would be good to see a healthy following for what should be a fascinating contest. Have a safe journey all. 2 Beer and York Knights. Proof the God loves us and wants us to be happy.
Bedford Roughyed Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 1 With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
m brooksy Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 First game this season I just can't see us winning. We've got a good squad but the performances have just been poor since the mini summer break. Think we'll keep it close but can't see how we break them down whereas I can see several area's of our defence which they will target. Team selection wise I wouldn't change too much from last week aside from Pellisier in for Aldridge for that added spark off the bench and Mo in for Pons although he actually was quite impressive last week. Would give Lannon another week to rest the ribs as we saw at Bradford that one nasty blow and it can take you out for very quickly. I'd go PLT, Mo, O'Keefe, Davies, Dixon, Smith, Drinkwater, Jay, Wildie, Farnworth, Hirst, Taylor, Milner. subs: Pellisier, Dudson, Moran, Baxter. York by 8

SUPERSTUD Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Drinkwater and Hirst don’t want to tackle. Poor contact on first two try’s.
sheddingswasus Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Tale of two quarters. First 20 all York. Since then all Oldham

Good effort to fight back into it. The softest try we’ll ever score after a grubber kick and pinball from George Hirst!!! Poor defence on the left when we gave them ( yet again) two first half tries from penalties. Owen Farnworth for all his go forward gives away points per game with penalties. Pellisier needs to up his concentration levels and though it pains me to say it, Mo was way off his best. Confidence issues? York’s forwards ran with more purpose and support; ours largely used up their energies in defence. Very few teams score through our middle. The cutting edge in attack isn’t there yet. We’re not far off the top teams in terms of performance. The big difference for me was Paul MacShane who absolutely ran the show. A class above our decision makers, unfortunately. Close, but definitely no cigar. Some encouragement, plenty of effort, but it’s as though we’re working hard at printing but can’t manage joined up writing. Frustrating. 3
Happyed Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Truly scandalous ref decision to give that knock on for their last try. Took it away from Oldham when I thought we might edge it. no lack of effort today and fantastic travelling support. 1

Still plenty of season to go yet and I've feeling we'll be seeing each other again before the conclusion. 1
LittleboroRoughyed Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Strange game today as we looked pedestrian for most of the match, probably down to York’s defence, whilst they stuttered in attack & only lost in the closing stages due to a late master class by McShane. Losing Wildie in the 1st minute was a huge blow & Hurst late on with what looked like a hamstring. What happened to Dudson, did he only do one stint? We need some aggressive, hard running forwards next season as that’s what won the game for York today. I thought PLT, Dixon, ET & Milner were good today 1
Happyed Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 I didnt see anything “pedestrian” today. I thought they played out of their skins to stay in the mixer with a very strong and fit team. I missed the dudson injury and assumed he would be back on. He was good for that spell too today 3

He was good for that spell too today I agree. They sweat blood today and gave their all. Just unfortunate that we make daft errors which result in even more effort needed. We gave York a real game after the first 25 minutes and without individual errors would have been even closer 1
