18-6 to York at HT

York overall on top, London have slowly started getting back into the game the longer the half went on.

Some errors from the young players on the wings for defense positioning and getting put into touch a bit too often.

Toulouse seem to be exceptionally strong in the last quarter of games.  They are scoring more points, but, critically, shutting out their opponents to devastating effect.  If my maths is correct, in their last three matches (Barrow and London away, then Sheffield at home yesterday), the aggregate scoring looks like this:

First 60 minutes - TO XIII 54, opponents 38

last 20 minutes - TO XIII 62, opponents 0.

Barrow 14 Widnes 20 FT Think that means Widnes and Barrow swap places in 8th and 9th.

Barrow 8-0 up at half-time, then a Widnes try from Maizen a few minutes after the second half made it 8-4. Widnes absolutely dominated for about 20 minutes after that, but were unable to score even when Barrow had a player sin-binned. There was then a flurry of tries from Widnes, including two long range efforts both involving Joe Edge, making it 8-20.

Nervous last few minutes though with a good try from Bullock for Barrow making it 14-20, and then Widnes kicked the restart out on the full and Barrow pressing on the Widnes line as the hooter went.

Not sure whether it's better playing Barrow away in February or August. M6  resembling a car park from junction 27 to 32.

Journey over from the dales was more akin to the Isle of Man TT.

Huge boost for Fev's play-off hopes by beating Doncaster - but a massive blow with Rocky Hampshire, who had been outstanding and scored a superb solo try, breaking his arm. I'd have probably rather lost and Hampshire be fit as the 2 halves are the key to this Rovers team.

Good performance despite some daft errors that invited Doncaster into good positions over and over, fair play to Donny who really stuck at it with Gebbie threatening throughout and Robinson and Pauli making big contributions. Wasn't the game of touch-and-pass that the scoreline implies.

Oops, correct - thanks!

Anyway, York far from their best I thought.  Possibly one eye on next week at Toulouse?  Just glad to get the 2 points and get through without injuries tbh.  Good to see Bailey Antrobus back and looking as good, if not better, than ever.

Probably fair, but still clocked up 42 points ! Thought Broncos were a credit to their coach, who is obviously getting the absolute maximum out of his squad and loanees.

Absolutely great day at Batley. Batley really do get the match day experience right. Loads going on plenty for kids to do, love singer even hook a duck.

Looked at the table before kick off and thought Batley would get smashed. However they were the better team imo. Oldham really didn't impress me tbh. A very competitive match with Oldham nicking it at the end. A great advert for the championship.

I actually thought that York were pretty good today. Started out straight away playing some pretty expansive rugby and looked slick and confident. A strong looking London side looked to hit back by being really quick and aggressive in defence but also by using some 'grubby' stuff - which continued throughout the game. Unfortunately York allowed themselves to be dragged into this and could quite easily been down to 12 men for at least 10 minutes after Mata'afa got needlessly involved. After the 2nd half restart, London tried to up the defensive pace again but once York had riden this out and put some more points on, London's body language changed and they looked a beaten side.

Felt like there was quite a lot more in the crowd today (we'll not be told the actual number, of course) but good to see Liam 'Lazarus' Harris back so soon - and Bailey Antrobus too after his long lay off.

Will be interesting to see who will be in the York 17 next weekend and how the part-timers cope with the trip over to Toulouse for a Friday evening game. They look to be in as good a shape as you could expect at this point in the season so it could be a cracking game at the top of the table - with the chance for bragging rights at least going into the playoffs....

Yes the biog score makes it look like it was a defensive horro show but I think both teams scored some excellent well worked tries.

No complaints with the score, Fev were very well organised with the ball and we let them have too much of it. We COULD have nicked it but feel it would have been a bit of a smash and grab. Best team over 80 minutes won it

I never felt like Donny could have nicked it but they never gave up,good atmosphere as well.

When we were 6 points down with 8 minutes to go and all the momeuntum, think it would have been interesting if we'd scored next, but dropped it.

As I say, it wouldn't have been deserved over the 80 minutes

Afforded myself 48 hrs of reflection before commenting. First of all anything I say is not intended to be disrespectful to Hunslet RLFC who are clearly doing it tough. So I attended the Fax v Hunslet match on Sunday. Fax were never going to lose that game. Some Fax supporters expressed their frustration but I would ask them to reflect upon last season and just escaping relegation. Overall a much improved season if not perfect!
