So next year we play everyone once then loop fixtures.

My idea.....

I would play everyone once =20 games

Then split into 3 x7 groups and play each one once giving a further 6 games.

26 games!

Those who win their group could be Division 1, 2 and 3 champs.

A four team play off could be added if required, in each group to even out any perceived fixture advantages.

So a loss of income this year and no significant increase in games next year if we take the cancelled 2025 playoff games into account. Nostalgia isn't what it used to be but the old second division was better and with little chance of promotion this year it's a relief to be out of the third division. We must do better at recruiting than when Thorman took us up with a lightweight pack.

Fair enough scrapping 8s - but why not top 5 play offs as usual. - still get the extra matches?

Championship still having play offs

Good and bad news. I was looking forward to a few more games in Sept/Oct but now nothing. Why no play-offffs!!

25k to winners most likely NWC. Is there anything for runner-up?

So the try line has moved again. What an absolute disgrace the Rugby League governing body is. It is not fit for purpose.

The season is done in 2 games time and everyone learns of this with less than a month to the play offs.

Some clubs should organise a little tournament to generate the lost income. Or we could just play the Jambos home and away.....

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

At the risk of living rent free in somebody’s head or summat, haven fans are chuffed. Worst league standing for many a year and this disguises how bad they’ve been. Also saying Town have spent big to get into the playoffs. The money they’re spending on walker is championship salary so can’t understand that claim. At least they don’t pay pensions so that’s a decent saving for them.

Far more than a league 1 salary

Only in rugby league , let’s change everything near the end of the season . Super 8s ok , no point . But I don’t get why we can’t have league one play offs … giving extra games and some teams still something to play for

Yep, rent free.

Whilst that all fair and well for next season. What a damp end to the current season. Surely allowing the top sides in L1 to have a play off type structure with a grand final at the end would be a good idea?

Chances of Barrow not having to travel up here? 🤣

Don't be surprised if in RFL World, Town and Haven don't end up playing each other home and away.

The RFL would much sooner send Town on an away jaunt to Midlands or London...

Why would we help out Whitehaven with extra gate receipts income?

Thats the most sensible suggestion otherwise games are going to be essentially dead rubbers for a large chunk of the season the more at stake the more marketable games become

The one league set up has to happen but as always the devil is in the detail....

From a Town point of view weve assembled a good squad for League one its now how do you find and fund the players needed to try and compete for say a top 8 place in the amalgamated divison

Forget Chuck and Chad I am the real legend killer

Zarrin turned down Widnes and Levi a very good offer from Oldham.

So I think next year we have Jake Bradley, Jake Carter, tyce walmsley, Lupton, zarrin, Levi, Jack, jammer,Mason signed on.
