Thought this game deserved its own section rather than tagged on with the last 2 games one.

Sadly now with the RFL announcing no middle eights the game has lost some of it edge but I am sure both teams will be looking for the win and best finishing position.

Fantastic effort by the Club once again off the field with another sold out sponsors lounge,Players reunion and the 80th Year celebrations.

Really intrigued who our new player announcement is going to be and then who we have managed to tie down from this squad for next season.

Expecting a tough game to end our home campaign for this season.

Come on Town, special day arranged, 80 year anniversary, ex players reunion.

The club have done their best on and off the field, so one last good home performance will take us to 2nd.

That may be rewarded in next years fixtures and funding, so it's up to you lads

Is it a new signing or re-signings?

Well we really did get the performance asked for in the first half.

I really hope we have or can get Galea and Attiga signed up for next year. We will then at least be competitive and entertaining.

That first half was as good as I’ve seen us play in a long time . Played fast , looked strong and quick and didn’t make an error for nearly 30 minutes . Scored some lovely tries and excellent to watch. Well , second half I don’t know , maybe having a big lead and thinking you don’t have to do the hard work , looking for fancy shortcuts , struggled to  complete, a very different look  from before the break . I was thinking that this is what frustrates Jonty when you hear him , and the fans . You see what we can do and it’s doing it consistently . Overall though  we’re getting to the end of a season that’s been a success and enjoyable to watch . We’re certainly making big strides forward with a good squad I reckon , some good exciting players , and we hopefully can keep them and build on that

Great 1st half, scored some great tries.

2nd half was flat. Rochdale had a go.

Only negative is the try they scored but tbf town were defending 3rd set on line.

Thought MOM could have went to a few including Lennon Clark and Zarrin but fair play to Scholey, He was making good yards and was strong and aggressive in defence.

Great 1st half with a contender for try of the season in there. 2nd half was flat and error ridden. Zarrin was outstanding, Rio was great in defence, Stevie and Lennon were great and I hope we can get him for next season especially if Cain isn't coming back. But I think the 2 props 1st half, Callum and Ross were outstanding.

Lack of go forward was very noticeable after Ainley, Stevie and Farrar were subbed.

Their middles hardly made any yards in first half but started to make ground in second allowing their half to play a bit.

We looked a different side after them and Callum were reintroduced.

First 40 the best I’ve seen in years, 2nd a bit disappointing. Rochdale must have got a bollocking at HT as they were a different side in the 2nd half. Pleased with the win and hope we finish on a high note at Goole. Well done to all associated with the Town. UTT

First 40 was outstanding, Rochdale couldn’t live with us, really thought we would kick on in the second half but got a bit stifled and bogged down, Rochdale upped their game but not to the extent that bothered us. Agree with previous comments regarding our middles. Dom Wear getting more confident every game.

Ref made some odd decisions 2nd half gifting them possession and there were either a few 6 agains or he forgot how to count. Also Number of times I've seen a team way ahead then just seem to struggle. I think it must be a sub conscious thing. May make a trip to Goole as going to be a long time before our next game.

The 1:30 announcement by the way was a local young lad (sorry I've forgotten his name)  who has been interesting a few SL clubs. I thought he might be a half-back but 2nd rower apparently. Another to come.

He was there on trial last year (or earlier this year?), massively highly rated from what I can remember.

First half was almost the perfect half, great attacking rugby and tremendous defence. Might be wrong but thought we completed all but 3 of our sets and put some lovely attacking kicks in on last tackle. The handling for some of those tries was brilliant.  Second half we just didn’t get into a rhythm at all but the defence was excellent on the back of all our mistakes. After some mediocre seasons nice to finish second, so a big well done to Jonty and the board. Let’s hope the rfl come up with a decent set up for the league and we can kick on. UTT

Looking back on that first half it was near perfect RL, the stats must be amazing. Don’t think we gave a penalty away, completed most of our sets and hardly missed a tackle. It was a joy to watch, it looked like we have used the last 3 weeks  well in training. 👌💙UTT

Shame we dropped the intensity in second half, only got back on top after Stevie and The starting middles came back on. Missed Callum big time when he was subbed

The Hornets number 7 was a cracking live wire of a player, not so much the useless old guy at fullback who spent the whole game pointing, like he was directing traffic. Not sure who he was 🤔😎

Very quick and came into his own once their middles started making ground after half time
