To be fair, it would have been an even more controversial comment if he was reffing a men's game.

Yep. Isn’t she the captain? 😳

RU just gave someone a 32 week ban. https://www.ruck.co.uk/england-player-handed-32-week-ban-for-inappropriate-commented-to-female-official/

I'd say this is an inappropriate comment from a female player to a male official.

Not 32 weeks but should be a season ending ban.

It will be interesting to see how the RFL handle this. If too lenient it will lead to accusations of double standards and that the punishment would be more severe the other way round.

On the thread in the women's section, @The Blues Oxsaid that 4-8 games is the usual range for this kind of talkback offence.

Four would seem too low for what is a pretty flagrant and insulting line - no matter how amusing it might be. Eight would, I assume, end her season so would serve its purpose without being OTT.

That said, the way things are going, the RFL will decide she's a character and give her a podcast.

Just thinking that. Thinking we should have a whip round to pay for the first SL player to commit to the comment. Just for the comedy value of course.

Especially if she'd bottled it up for a few seconds more, the final hooter would have sounded and she could have let off steam in the changing room.

It's really just another sign that the women's game needs professionalising. Sadly, things seem to be about to take a turn for the worse if SL sides are to be excused the need to run women's teams soon.

Professionalism didn't stop Zak Hardaker using homophobic language towards a match official.

I'm sure that if I could be bothered to look back over various MRPs, I'd find countless examples of dissent in SL.

Surely as captain she has the right to ask the questions. 😁

She should have brought it up as a captain's challenge.

The problem wasn't the question, she didn't say "Sir" at the end, that's what got her in bother.

Don't expect many to agree but i would give her 4 matches.Plus she must apologise to the referee. And sit her down and tell her even if you think something about match officials keep it to yourself.

Seem to remember Andy Gregory being attributed to something similar in an altercation with John Holdsworth back in the day “so what you’re saying is it’s okay just as long as I just think you’re a wan….?’

It must be great being someone like you.

You can lament the great breakdown in society and the lack of respect players have for the ref these days and how it's all getting like soccer.

But someone does disrespect the ref and it's just heat of the moment bantz and we should all lighten up.
