Funny unless you are the official its directed at. Would you be happy if someone said that to you in your workplace?

I wouldn't really care.

Not even remotely a fair comparison.  If someone insulted you at your job, how many people would be present to even hear it, compared to how many people heard this one.

I'm sure a ban is inevitable but don't forget that the women's season is about half as long as the men's, so any ban should be proportionate.  What some people are suggesting would amount to about HALF a season.

If he is upset by what she said then he's going to really struggle with what the crowds might say if he referees a SL game and gives a decision against the home side.

She was well out of order, as is anyone who questions the integrity of a match official, but he's going to be alright so don't stress yourself.

No stress here.  Just pointing how out how irrelevant your point was.

Someone asked how I would feel if the same thing was said to me and I said I wouldn't really care. I was answering a question therefore it wasn't irrelevant.

I never really see the point of these comparisons. Much of what happens and is said on a RL pitch, or any/most sports pitches, would get people sacked in the workplace.

Yeah but its ok if its funny

Between two "adults" tis merely inarticulate instant reaction

As an example to other players, especially youngster looking to rôle models, not good.

As an opportunity to re-inforce "northern bits of rough" stereotypes,  perfect.

As to what a ref may or may not experience from SL fans, it's up to the clubs to sort. Judging by thode kids giving the v sign in the background recently, they've a long way to go.

One player's sports pitch is another player' s workplace.

It should be a high end ban, whatever that is in the Women's SL.based on factors like season length etc.

There are two challenges with this - the inappropriate nature of bringing a refs sex life up, and the insinuation of bias/cheating.

That said, RFL showed their true colours with the Hardaker ban.

Come on John, you arent that daft.

The workplaces are fundamentally different so comparisons about what would happen in say an office are practically useless. If I told a colleague to **** off I would get sacked. If I punched someone Id get sacked. The list is endless. A RL field in the heat of the moment is not a normal workplace.

Similarly, if you ran full pelt into someone then stood over them puffing your chest out while the rest of your colleagues patted you on the back, there would be some sort of criminal investigation.

I was once walking around the office when someone whacked me in the head. He was facing instant dismissal, but claimed mitigation and had it downgraded to a suspension. Meanwhile, I got my GP to stand me down from switching on my laptop for 12 days.

Statement by York:

Statement from York RLFC Chairman, Clint Goodchild

On behalf of York RLFC, I wish to address the matter concerning Sinead Peach. Sinead expressed genuine remorse immediately for the comment and understands the serious nature of the situation. We will continue to support Sinead while she and the team prepare for the approaching playoffs.

As a Club, we have confidence the RFL tribunal process will take into account Sinead’s longstanding positive contribution to the game and her respectful reputation will be recognised. We are committed to the values of respect and integrity that underpin our sport.

It is like saying when someone is punched in the face, 'you would get arrested for doing that in the high st', well you would also for tackling someone around the legs in the high st

I wonder if the same people take a speed gun to a F1 Grand Prix.

Fictional plot twist: Peach doubles down and in fact the referee is now being investigated for relations with a Saints player.

Now that’s funny 🤣
