The question then is what are we doing as a sport ahead of the potential LLS decider on Friday?

Answer from most of the media before and after was nothing. Assuming the journalists who were covering the men's game on Friday were stuck in traffic or ignoring the women's game because they couldn't write a solitary sentence on it. They're websites must be too full for any more stories.

Well the first part has just happened as she stands down as head coach.

She's stood down to focus on youth development.

And lo and behold the second thing has now happened.

Personally I would find this extremely galling if the final part falls into place after what we all know happened 4 years ago 😅

Has she? Where's this reported mate?

It was revealed on Forty20 Live yesterday.

Our Halifax(?) friend was correct it seems.

Seems a lot of things havent been announced by York. G Dagger has also left but you would only know that if you followed her personal socials apparently.

Interesting. It was only last week she was talking about how much she was looking forward to developing the next generation of Valkyrie, and she got a big send off at the awards do.

If Georgie is off then I imagine her husband may be moving on too.

If all that is true, then all three will move on with the York fans very best wishes after delivering back to back Super League titles and inspiring a generation of young girls in the city. 🫡

I'm sure you remember as well as I do what happened 4 years ago. It just seems it's easy for some people to say one thing and then do another.

I don't know if the back to Cas part will happen. Things change at the drop of a hat.

It doesnt make much sense to me either coming to a team that hasn't won a single game in 2 years and should be relegated to league 1.

Wakefield would be surely a better destination for her...

At the moment I can't see the RFL relegating Cas, I think it is more likely Oulton are asked to leave or they make it impossible for them to stay in the Championship by changing the criteria. Widnes will win promotion bar Wakefield pulling off a miracle and I believe, after talking to the people at Wakefield, that unlike previous years they have been told they will have to earn promotion on the field rather than simply been able to ask to go up ala Swinton last season.

I would still be surprised if the Cas thing happened but if it did then you can pretty much guarantee Cas will have given her some money to spend and a string of high profile names will follow her there. I believe York made the announcement about moving Anfield upstairs/sidewards to get ahead of the rumors that were pretty much the talk of the game.

York confirmed this today. The youth thing was basically gardening leave in the hope of less contact with senior players.

Fair play to her after a transformative 5 years at the club. She'll leave as a legend and with nothing but good wishes and respect after delivering 4 finals and 3 trophies.
