Jimmy DoNut Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 (edited) Hi All, can we all make sure we complete Bill's survey, it's only one question, takes two minutes. Up the Yeds! Available on the club website. Edited September 4, 2025 by Jimmy DoNut 3
LittleboroRoughyed Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 Not sure what this is going to tell the club apart from existing fans confirming that we’ll continue to watch Oldham if we are in Super League. How are people who don’t currently watch us being engaged to find out what would entice them to come & watch (regardless of what division we’re in)?
Happyed Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 Yup, might be a missed opportunity this. Ideally the club would be taking peoples details for future marketing and promotions. They could’ve asked more questions about match day experience etc 1
Roughyed Rats Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 (edited) Not sure what real value this survey is. The people likely to complete it are the very same people that are already engaged via the website and social media already. The very same people that probably go to games now anyway. Also, one question, really? Not sure who came up with that one. Edited September 5, 2025 by Roughyed Rats 2
Bert Street Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 I think they need one piece of information as quickly and in as large numbers as possible. The more people say yes, the better argument the club has. Anything else, ie what time, what day, pie flavour, is detail and can be acquired later. Just get as many people to say yes as possible. 2

We must all be savvy with this and help the club out. Pass on the survey to everyone in your WhatsApp, x, etc and kindly ask them to complete in the affirmative. 2

The survey just says "we are keen to know how much the town is backing Oldham RLFC," but are you suggesting they might try and use this in support of the SL application? "I won’t engage in a debate because the above is correct and if anything else is stated to the contrary it’s incorrect."

I would have thought that is the purpose and to collect a marketing data base. 1

The Art of Hand and Foot Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 To be frank, although yes it was a survey, it wasn't much of a survey. Far more information could've been gleaned. For example, my demographic : age, where I live, how do I travel to BP . Do I come alone? male/female, am I a season ticket holder, was i a season ticket holder and when? Why did I not renew? Was I a regular during the post Bears era? When did I first start watching the yeds? Plus a number of other pertinent questions! In any marketing activity one starts with objective. I'm trying to work out what the objective of this 'survey' is. 1
E Stand Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 A more pertinent question would be " would you get a season ticket if we were in SL?". Personally, despite being a regular fan for over 60 yrs, the answer would be " no", simply because the days/times of the home games would vary according to the dictates of Sky. My Friday pub night is sacrosanct! 1
Anita Bath Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 In north america some clubs have tried to show the strength of their support by asking fans to make a commitment to a season ticket should an expansion bid be successful. Its only a small amount, say a fiver, and it can be made refundable, or transformed into a voucher for game ticket if the application isnt successful. It would look impressive if say the club got 3000 committing money to buy a season ticket next season to watch top level rugby. 3
