Some talk around about this match being on Friday 19th September , does anyone know 100% , I just need to make sure I don’t take a late afternoon work meeting so I can avoid the traffic & get to the game early

It’s mentioned on website after Featherstone report using words “likely” , potentially a good move I think , the other team will only have 4 full rest days , Oldham have a blank weekend , got  to use any advantage they can

Not quite as daft as has been suggested higher up this thread  😀

Can't see them being that daft to clash with every final round SL fixture.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Personally was hoping for a sunday clash, driving up from Warwickshire to visit family, watch the game and with younger kids. Dont think it helps anyone changing expected matchdays at late notice, not feasible for me this time but really hope we get a bumper crowd, some new faces and a result!

Much the same for me. Trying to get past Birmingham in rush hour the 2 1/2 hours drive home means it would be getting on for 1am before I get home.

It will certainly affect the away crowd as trying to get across the Pennines on the M62 on a Friday night is a bit of a fool's errand especially for people who have been at work that day.

It's a no from me too, changed my holiday dates to be home by Sunday 21st! So won't be changing again to attend Fri night although absolutely gutted to be missing the match.  Does anyone know if it will be broadcast live on any station? Sounds like a lot of fans can't attend which is such a shame as I'm sure like me, have waited many many years for games of this calibre.

The club are experimenting with Friday nights. If the club were promoted they would be playing anyway.  One of the problems of having a thriving junior set up in the town is maybe 300-400 youngsters play on a Sunday and that often stops them getting to the matches. Add the parents, coaches and officials and you can see the draw in Friday night matches

Agree with this seems like a daft thing to do given every SL team is playing at 8pm that night, dont see any logic in the decision your hardly going to get casual supporters in with it being a full programme of SL games.

Just within people i know and have spoken to recently i can name 6 supporters that go to the games when there team arent playing that now wont attend the fixture.

Suspect club is gauging the potential level of support, by playing Friday night, for SL, given that's when many of their games are played. Sadly, Friday night no good for me.

Their loss sadly. If they are going to a SL match they should be watching Oldham. Just my opinion though.

My situation is the opposite. I will have five with me who don’t usually on a Sunday due to other commitments (other sports they play). Same ones came to the Bradford home and away matches, both on a Friday.

It’s a difficult one as Sunday’s are problematic for me with the kids playing football with many afternoon kick offs so Friday suits.

I think early decision & communication is key to enable supporters to plan but as others have said if / when we get in SL Sunday kickoffs are rare

Clubs loss not there's, this is the lost generation of fans over the last 20 years have followed other teams but are at least coming back slowly and our biggest game of the season is scheduled to clash with ALL the SL matches on the same night. Absolute mental when you think they could have used the fact that no other games are on all weekend as a marketing opportunity.

Dont have an issue with trialing different days in general just think given the reason ive stated this isn't a great idea.
