jroyales Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Hard one to call. Just hope the big lads from Doncaster softened them up a bit. I think us having a break and them only having 4 days to recover could be the differece. Oldham by 12. (Depending on the ref!)

shrewsbury roughyed Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Owen Restall and Zac McComb both played for Fax against Donny. Any other ex Oldhamers in their squad, does anyone know? And who are their danger men?

Fax fan here , we rested a few starters against donny , nofoaluma who played centre against you guys on his debut has been switched to fb and is having a brilliant season will probably be our strike player , woody at 6 can be dangerous and brandon douglas who didn't play in the game at boundary park is probably one of the best props in the league. It'll be a 50/50 game with Fax hitting form but oldham the better overall squad. 4

shrewsbury roughyed Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Drinkwater and Brierley had knocks last week but we’re assuming will be fit. Key players obviously. Elijah Taylor is z strong leader for us and he’s been out with HIA protocols: hopefully back. Plus Matty Ashurst has been out with a hamstring problem. We could do with those two back. Possibly will be. Every game now could be ET’s last as he’s retiring. Otherwise, long term injuries aside, we should be close to full strength. Whether we hit the ground running or continue making stupid early errors and gifting tries may well determine the outcome. 1

I'm sure Kyle would love to put one over on his home-town team! 1

From our point of view playing Bradford away or oldham away didn't really matter that much in terms of chances of victory, given the short turn around it was important to rest key players, especially with us having a small squad .
The Art of Hand and Foot Posted September 16 Posted September 16 9 hours ago, bentleyman said: Why is the game on Friday ? Two reasons, one tactical and one strategic. The tactical reason is to give Halifax as short a turnaround as possible, we've had a week off already and so are rested. But I've seen that backfire in the past. The strategic reason is because we are looking at playing more games on friday in order to boost crowds.
mahdlo Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Does anyone know if the game will be available to watch online?

ManchesterYed Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Oldham to win by 30. A very comfortable win on the cards. Very poor form to be playing this on a Friday night from the club in my humble opinion. 4 1

shaw llewellyn Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Difficult job deciding which four don't make matchday squad. We will all have our own idea of course.
m brooksy Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Definitely an interesting squad. Can't see Dean playing such a massive game after not playing for 3 months. Looks like Hirst into the back row for Lannon which I wouldn't have done and then Ashurst in for Foster. Ted onto the bench for me and that is a massive boost. Looks like Brierley, Ryan, O'Keefe, Davies, PLT, Smith, Drinkwater, Ormonroyd, Wildie, Farnworth, Ashurst, Hirst, Milner. subs:Ted, Jay, Whitehead, Pellisier. I've been confident in our team all year and really been impressed with our resilience and toughness but I think we've run out of energy and the last 6 weeks have really struggled especially in attack whereas Fax look like they're charging into the play offs. Oldham by 4 but I think this is going to be a lot closer than some people are suggesting. 1
Jimmy DoNut Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I don't think anyone except our friend Manchester Yed thinks this will be anything other than a very tough play-off epic. Hopefully home advantage & the short turn-around for them will swing it in our favour. Oldham by 6. 1

Does Dixon drop out? Lannon is a relatively safe pair of hands but Hirst can be more explosive and I feel that he’s due a big game after a couple with mistakes leading to tries against. Got to be on very top form for this one or I feel we’ll get turned over by a tough side in very good form
