With all the chat about getting into SL what criteria is used, and do "they" put each team down and compare each criteria?

For example, the ground being suitable for SL giving each criteria a maximum of 5 points:

Oldham 5; York 4 - car parking issue; Toulouse 3; London 2 ( don't know where they are playing; Bradford 0.

Another could be away support:

Oldham 5; York 3; Bradford 3; both London and Toulouse O.

I don't know what others are used, but surely it can't just be favouritism or in the case of Bradford "they were good once." Or in the case of London "we need a team in London"

I still feel it's Bradford, London and deservedly York. We will be there next year unless they change the criteria again possibly saying you have to be able to speak french!

We won't get 5 max points for the ground. Apparently the media gantry is too small. Also not got a big screen. I also think there's a problem with the size and number of the executive boxes.

Whats the car parking issue at York? We've got 440 free spaces, or well over a thousand if you don't mind spending a fiver in M&S 😅😂

Got to agree with Gav Wilson on the car parking at York, not sure what the issue is you are referring to? A shed load of free parking close to the ground and the ground itself one of the best and most modern up to date grounds I've been to in recent years. The LNER stadium is a perfect venue for SL games, if i'm not mistaken its already held a Challenge Cup semi there this season? Cant se York failing much on the stadium side of things

I sincerely hope the clubs are better informed with dissent from within Super League clubs due to a lack of disclosure on the Financial implications.

I suspect one big criteria is the ability to sustain a super league squad with a modest central contribution at the outset..

The IMG criteria, which will decide the first 12 teams and also reportedly be a major factor in the independent panel's decisions regarding the other 2 places, have been widely available for a long time and can be found here https://www.rugby-league.com/uploads/docs/240326_FINAL_Rugby League Grading Handbook_26Mar2024_FINAL.pdf

What seems to be happening is that a lot of fans aren't bothering and are choosing to frame their own interpretation of what they think should be the criteria which inevitably favours their own team.

To be totally honest I fear for the teams 'parachuted' into superleague.  London were in last season and didn't particularly shine. They'll be the feeder team for nrl teams.

Us, on the other hand will, eventually,  be the team fed by local talent.

Although I want us in superleague,  i think we need another year, at least, building.

I think the criteria to get in super league is simple

1. You need to called Bradford Bulls

2. Gary Hetherington must be involved

3. Must play north of Leeds with good rail links.

Not getting into super league

1. Being called salford

2. Play your home games in Lancashire

I think you will find Lockyer’s Contribution will be from afar mostly. I believe he has just moved house in Brisbane and has 4 kids all school ages. He also has media commitments with channel 9 and is a board member of the Brisbane Broncos.

The main impact of Lockyer could be the number of business class flights between brisbane and london on London’s budget.
